Yeah, the whole Ulli situation is just unbelievable at this point. Ongoing problem for years, still nothing being done. I can guarantee you that they'll be all over that zone in a heartbeat with a fix if they screwed up the code and made stones drop from any statue, but hey it apparently takes *years* to figure out how to make it so RMT can't cock-block Ulli.
The real question is what the hell does SE want from this game? If they want happy customers who will spread the word about what a great game FFXI is and how awesome SE is so they can make more money then maybe, just *maybe* they should listen to the cacophonous voices telling them how fucked up many aspects of it are. If they'd address these issues in a timely fashion then FFXI would increase its player-base and they'd have an easy transition to a new MMO. However I for one (and I can speak for many people I've talked with who agree) that this will be the last SE produced MMO I will ever play.
Obviously I'm not going anywhere for a while because there's still content I enjoy, but that doesn't change the fact that the potential for FFXI to be fantastic makes it frustrating to see how broken it is in some areas. With SE frequently doing the "just wait and see" game or blatantly telling its subscribers "no" with regards to obvious problems, they're basically shooting themselves in the foot. This interview is the same tired crap they've been spewing for a while. I'm by no means surprised by it and I think a lot of people are indifferent at this point. But like I stated, I'll never buy another MMO from SE again. They've proven they don't have the resources or inclination to take care of their customers.
(Queue BRP and others like him with the "wah" and "quit now" responses.)
