    Fucking headset mic.

Argh, sorry for the colorful thread title, but I'm extremely frustrated. =( Basically my headset mic is picking up my voice, but when I try to play back what I just recorded (in the MS Sound Recorder thing) the volume is EXTREMELY low, and I basically have to put the mic in my mouth in order to get a decent volume.

I guess I'll let you know that this is a new PC, and it worked fine on my old one. The headset is in mint condition, and there's no reason why it shouldn't be working. In terms of audio connections, I have both my headset and speakers plugged into this awesome switch that lets you toggle what you want your audio coming out of. This isn't the problem because I tried the microphone plugged directly into the PC in both the front and the back and same problem occurs. I've updated my mobo's audio drivers, and that has seems to have done a whole lot of nothing. All of my input slider things are to the max, as well as output (except for Master Volume and Wave, since those are unrelated).

    I'M LOST, HELP ME BG.

On a positive note, I've finally fixed that problem I had from the other thread I made in this forum... guess what it was? I just uninstalled my K-lite Codec Pack and it was fixed. It's always the stupidest shit that causes problems.

Start > Run > sndvol32 /r enter > advanced button on mic, turn on boost see if it improves.

If I select Properties, it gives me two options in the Mixer Device drop down menu: Realtek HD Audio Input and Realtek HD Audio Ouput. The Input selection is the that I've screenshotted, and the Output selection is the same, but has Master Volume, Wave, and Mic Volume (with an Advanced button below it). Clicking Advanced brings up this:

As for my mobo model, it's an ASUS P5W DH Deluxe.

That was in the output menu, though... I want to edit input. I'll try in a minute, though.
