Well, I'd play it at release! FFXI at 50 cap was one of the most balanced games i've ever played. Hell, it was good up until 60.

We all know what happened next though, so i'd be hardpressed to let myself get sucked in the second time around. It'd probably only merit a month or two of my time.

FFXI was alot of fun prior to botting and the Chinese invasion.

Considering all the fun I had in the begining of FFXI I'd play whatever they came out with in a heartbeat. But, having played FFXI, I doubt I would stick around long after I got near the "end" considering what they did with FFXI ._.

Provided it isn't WoW with FF characters anyways

Another FF MMO I probably would play. They seem to "get" things better now but they're stuck with what they've done in the past. If they could re-design FFXI with 95% of the same stuff and drop PS2 I think they could do a lot more things. The past few updates have mostly been all good, ToAU has been great overall. They have a better idea of what to do in an MMO and I'm fairly confident their next MMO would be setup a lot better.

After playing Wow I feel to bound in FF. Litt'e things like changing to text or windowing FF are such a BIG DEAL to people. But if you play WoW you're like, uhm wtf this sucks?

Part of that is Ps2 though. I'm sure if they made a new MMO, that it'd be PC and much more in tune with current MMO styles.

P.S. Isn't there one planned already? Microsoft+SE collaboration, right? I'd give that a shot it sounds promising, I really just like FF too much to not at least give it a try, really.

I'd say yes. I'm not disappointed entirely with FFXI, granted there's room for improvement, I wouldn't expect perfection from anything, or anyone.

If it was released on genuinely equal ground on same day for EU NA JP players, without the preferential GM treatment for JP players that's gone on in the past, maintenance times rotating through the 3 time bands, and the RMT under control from day 1 - then maybe.

If it's a case of having to jump onto a server where Japan and North America have been playing for 2 years headstart (or importing - and having to import every single expansion after that because of the region locked POL accounts stuff they pulled with this game)... probably not.

Generally I regard maintenance as a time to talk about getting my housework done (and avoid it) - but the constant EU primetime thing does tend to become a regular face slapping session really.

If I was going to play any, it would probably be another FF. I think tho' at some point I'm going to walk away from MMORPG's and try not to look back. Avoided EQ, avoided WoW and made a mistake really in ending up in FF.

At least on the PS3 they cant give you shitty "Due to the PS2's limitations" excuses... therefore they have no excuse to suck.

But if I was SE... fuck making it on the PC!
