Looks like some new assault sets in there. Askar Zuchetto comes close to replacing turban, if only it had 1% more haste. At least we know what items to look for to pop ulli/sozu/alky/pallas, just need to find where they drop now!

They made it pretty clear in the interview that there will not be an alternative to the kings. While they said they were changing the acquisition method for HNM's that have become 'too popular', they also said that they do not have plans to make abjurations easier to get (which can be read as no kings/gods in the assault).

Same stats as Kraken, but it doesnt mention anything about 2-8 hits :\

An octave by definition is a group of 8. In music theory, it is an interval of 8 degrees between two tones of the same name. Kraken could hit up to 8 times. Octave has a lot of meanings that allude to the number 8.

It probably has some kind of hidden effect.

What does the "Linkshell" flag by Rare/Ex etc mean...? I've never noticed it before.

Usually a space filler; sometimes used for unattainable items, I believe.

And yes, on my NIN I TP in a Rajas Ring, because I use Sushi. STR +5, DEX +5, Store TP +5, Subtle Blow +5 is far better than some accuracy I don't need. Especially since it gets me closer to 10TP per swing.

By the way, I noticed a series of level 70+ JSE weapons. While interesting, they do seem rather bland and certainly do not exceed anything we already have. Some of the other items look interesting, like the chocobo dye. Though whether this means you can change the color of your chocobo, its hard to say at this point.

The eternal optimist in me hopes that it has a hidden effect of attacks 2-8 times, with the trigger being it either can't be dual-wielded with kraken club, or if PS2/game system limitations prevent that maybe dual wielded with anything. Then it would still be able to function in the same capacity as the original Kclub while still allowing for offhanding a shield to boost HP for souleater and eliminating the dual wield kclub zomgz action.
