He said its as large as an avatar, maybe final boss of nyzhul isle?

Has anyone else thought that maybe it's simply a playing Piece for the new "Mini-game" that can be played in certain towns? It certainly looks like that, and having it come out of hte sea and onto a map would make me think in that direction.

Here's the whole update - all items (taken from Polutils forum):

The Status Info DAT has changed format - I'll update the DAT File Formats post later.
French and German resources have been added - this may mean I'll have to change EngrishOnry's name :D At some point these resources will be added to the data browser.

Other than that, the main changes of this patch are limited to items. Names for many unused items were cleared (probably as part of the localization effort; this includes the BarXXX II and XXX: San scrolls).

Puppet Items (listed first because there's few of them)

Has anyone else thought that maybe it's simply a playing Piece for the new "Mini-game" that can be played in certain towns? It certainly looks like that, and having it come out of hte sea and onto a map would make me think in that direction.

they give the job the weapon skill named on the weapon. So RDM can use Vorpal Blade w/o a melee sub.

Lots of new mog house goodies, Nothing overly notable though [aside from a Dark Light... *insert emo joke here*]

    Also:
    Vorpal Sword (Sword)
    DMG:39 Delay:224
    Linkshell, CanEquip, NoSale, Ex, Rare
    LV75 RDM

    Dancing Dagger (Dagger)
    DMG:27 Delay:183
    CanEquip, NoSale, Ex, Rare
    LV75 BRD

With this, Assuming it gives RDM the WS Vorpal Blade without a WAR/DRK/PLD sub as it implies, or Dancing Edge for BRD. It might be reasonable to think other jobs might get similar items in the future. Maybe Swift Blade for BLU, or Asuran for PUP.
Good start.... It might be possible that this is just an attempt to give every job something that that might add to their arsenal that they dont usually have. Just a few ideas....

Wightslayer (Rare/Ex, Sword Level 75 BLU)
    DMG:41 Delay:236
    **** Maybe Blunt damage?

Double Axe (Rare/Ex, Axe Level 75 BST)
    DMG:46 Delay:312
    ****Double attack without /war?

Killer Bow (Rare/Ex, Marksmanship Level 75 RNG)
    DMG:36 Delay:288
    *****Tatami-esque killer effects?

Quicksilver (Rare/Ex, Marksmanship Level 75 COR)
    DMG:31 Delay:480
*****Maybe higher tier rapid shot like rng can get with AF/Relic?

Windslicer (Rare/Ex, GreatKatana Level 75 SAM)
    DMG:76 Delay:450
    *****Iduuno maybe some extra haste?

Nothing comes to mind from the names of the other stuff

OR it could be weapons that would add traits that people might use a specific subjob for, like rdm/war for vorpal or brd/thf for dancing edge, bst/war for double attack... which would work with some of the above thoughts.

That doesn't make any sense, there is a FULL set of these JSE weapons for all 18 jobs, and only two of them have names that would imply the extra WS; Vorpal sword and Dancing dagger. Plus, most jobs have EVERY weaponskill in their respective JSE weapon category anyway. It maybe makes sense for those two weapons, but not the rest of the set.

I thought the mini-game was just a gambling game.

In the missions that were added, there is a scene with a map and, while it didn't appear to use this model, it used something similar in the CS. This could also be for a CS sometime, too.

Wow, so that guy who suggested that was right. Where did the person who discovered this find the weapon he tested?

I was hoping all those weapons would be more like job specific ridills. Vorpal is multi hit, and double axe sounds multi hit-ish, quicksilver sorta sounds like it could fire multiple shots at once. That's hoping for way to much I'm sure but what better way to make people stop bitching about ridill than to make one for every class.
