    I'm disappointed that they spent this long on it and that's all there is. When CoP was released (say what you will) we had all of the missions clear up to 6-4, what's up with this sudden deemphasis on the story they're doing? It's one of the most visible things that sets FFXI apart from literally every other MMORPG out there.

    Seal of the Serpent

    Talk to Naja to start CS.

    In CS, ask about Aphmau.

    Then go to the Imperial Ward Gate, unequip weapon, and click on door for another CS.


    Misplaced Nobility

    Zone into Aydeewa Subterrane at I-6 in Wajaom Woodlands, and decend down to the next map at the steep slope at E-9.

    Go back to where the Dampsoil was for the previous mission in Aydeewa Subterrane, and click on the blank spot nearby it (Position G-8). Get CS.


    Bastion of Knowledge

    Go back to Whitegate, and go to the Walahra Temple for another CS.


    Puppet in Peril

    Runic Portal out to Mamool Ja Savages, and go to Jade Sepulcher to the north. There, click on the Ornamental Door for a CS.

    At this point, there is a fight.

    The mob appeared to be a Paladin, buffing himself with Protect IV and Shell III.

    It used moves such as Blazing Angon (Def down that had to be erased and was fire damage), Granite Skin (Stoneskin) and various PLD moves such as Flash and Holy. He is rather slow at attacking speed.

    Dispelling his buffs and be sure to keep Barfira up. We couldn't dispel his Stoneskin. It also randomly reset hate. As it got closer and closer to being defeated, it would start to hit for more and more damage upon or tank.

    Ultimately, myself (WHM), a DRG/SAM, a PLD/NIN, and a RDM/BLM were able to kill it. All of us were 75.

    Prevalence of Pirates

    Go to Dvucca Staging Point, and go to Arrapago Reef. Get a CS at zone in, then go to the Cutter ship for another Cutscene.


    Shades of Vengeance

    Go pick up some antidotes for this, the mobs in the Assault zone use poison additional effect that does 80 a tick.

    Go to back to Periqia staging point, and enter into the Assault Gate. If you lose and need a new pass, talk to the Imperial Immortal that is nearby for another pass.

    This Assault is 30 minutes.

    Go to H-9 inside the zone, and you will find eight Lamia all together. Pull one at a time (they do link). Just as a note, our RDM was able to sleep them for a decent amount of time with Sleepga using BLM sub and a Dark Staff. We won after we killed K23H1-Lamia (we wound up killing four total).

    Get another CS.

    In the Blood

    Go back to Naja and talk to her for another CS.

    Sentinels' Honor

    Currently where we are stopped at.

    Fuck you SE. The missions were getting good. I was really suprised at what happened to the Captain I didn't expect that. But getting cockblocked by SE again seriously is so so so fuckin' lame.

    Uh no we didn't? Pretty sure when CoP was released the first patch went up to chapter 4 (as in it stops after Diabolos) or maybe that was already the second patch. Patch after that it stopped after chapter 5, which means no Ultima or Omega yet, then they released chapter 6, next patch chapter 7 and chapter 8 took several patches to be fully released.

    Zilart had a similar setup and even the main game. Personally I don't mind that they do it on expansions, but on the main game... luckily for me I didn't play this when it was only FFXI with no Zilart I guess.

    Not that the USA or EU really notice much of Zilart and main game unlocking since USA couldn't even do Zilart missions when they got the game and the EU didn't join till CoP got out, which they could sorta do thanks to level caps.

    Now I'm off to enjoy some of the new ToAU story =)

    I'm pretty sure it did go up to 6-4. Then I believe they gave us up to Al'Taieu/8-1 (December?). Not sure if 8-2/8-3 were in the same update, although I'm think 8-2/Februaryorsomething, 8-3/Aprilorsomething, and 8-4/summer.

    Yes, they did do it on national and Zilart missions, too. But, ToAU missions are too easy and only so much are added at a time (not sure how much nation/Zilart missions were added at a time, though). Plus, we aren't slowly getting new areas like we did in CoP, unless you count the various Assault and Salvage areas available after certain missions (mostly the second mission and the Black Coffin).

    Also, wasn't the first series of missions in April just cutscenes with RL day delays?

    You'd be pretty wrong then.

    First cap was at Diabolos, I think the first CS after with Tenzen and Prishe talking at Jeuno.

    The next one was around Promy-V or at the end of the Three Paths.

    Then I think there was another... could of been two.

    Then we got Al'Teiru... and then things slowed down by a lot.

    The cutscenes are coming out at a decent rate, its just that the boss fights are either too easy and too spread out.

    Well, even chapter 4 is MUCH better than ToAU's first, what, 8 missions of cutscenes, that weren't as entertaining as most CoP cutscenes.

    Plus, you said "Al'Teiru", so I get the last laugh! (I don't know why, but it seems everything you type has some attitude in it.)

    Also, the "Zone History" page on FFXIclopedia says Promyvion - Vahzl was available/activated on the first CoP update, but I'm not sure if that's true or not. Maybe CoP up to Promv-Vahzl->6-4->Al'Taieu->palace/garden?->Paradox-something in-between here?>Limbus/Fellowship?->Bahamut/Diabolos->Apocalypse Nigh/Waking the Beast->ToAU ? Memory's a bit foggy.

    P.S. Is Al'Teiru the Japanese spelling or? >_>

    Anyway, if you consider Assault a missionline then ToAU stands pretty well against CoP. The way I see it, Assault is all the crunchy stuff and the main storyline is all the smooth stuff. They separated them to please the people who only care about story and people who only care about fighting.

    Strange for them to actually do this. They were starting to cater more to their audience, it was just cleverly disguised behind not doing the things we were actually asking for.

    Point. I do hope that Aht Urhgan mission progression and Assault mission ranks are requirements for, say, Hazhalm.

    Also, does Nyzul Isle have eternal single light weather? Maybe they'll use it for ToAU's final battle?

    That is untrue. When CoP first came out Ch4 which was Defeating Diablos was the end, till later further updates.

    The missions were the first thing I did last night when the servers came back up (after seeing Fafnir claimed as I logged in).

    I really enjoyed them.

    As for the Mamools...

    SPOILERS
    Gessho tries to mislead you into thinking the trolls stole the automatons, but an Immortal rightly distrusts him and has you follow him to Mamook. There, you find the automatons and witness Gessho engaging in secret talks with the Mamools and revealing his evil plan against the Empire. After surprising him and scaring him off, the Mamools sic their rhino-riding dragoon on you. After the fight, Luzaf and Flit show up to steal the automatons, and Aphmau follows them. Their journey thereafter on the Ashu Talif suggests that they are more passenger than prisoner, freely roaming about the ship and chatting with Luzaf and the crew as if nothing was wrong. You intercept them at Periqia where all of what Tonko said is revealed.
