It's because of the Mamool Ja Divers and Frogmen in Mamook.
I would like to see something unique used for Mamool Ja aquatics, though. Even if it's just a slightly altered Mamool Ja mage/sage or maybe Sahagin like they did for the Mamool Ja knights.

Watch the Jade Sepulcher BCNM CS again... Ratol Ja is a Sahagin... You can see him, he even talks for christ's sake...
/random Is he blue (MNK/DRG) or yellow(WHM/BRD)? Blues are cuter.
He's blue :D
Sahagin lore is very weak, even weaker than Antica's stuff. We know there are many tribes, though. For example, some of them used to live up near Bastok. I really hope they explain more about the race, but then again, I wish they'd explain more about everything.
Ah, I'll have to rewatch that then. I guess people's guesses were correct about that, then.Originally Posted by Rocl
So we have:
Sagelord - Sages
Strifelord - Knights
Lancelord - Warriors
____lord - Aquatics
That sound correct?
Did it mention what kind of "lord" Ratol Ja is? Aqualord? lol
Yay! Blue!
Now all we need is a wamoura overlord for the Trolls.
And couldn't agree more, BRP. At least Poroggos--barely expanded story in-game--were given a rather rich backstory before they were released.
Also, if we go by the facte the others end in -e, then maybe Marinelord? Sealord sounds cool, though. So does Aqua and Hydrolord.
EDIT: "Whalelord" fits the 1 syllable-ness of the other 3 and the ending in "-e", as does "Tidelord".
I can't recall if they called him anything other than Ratol Ja, I'll check later on tonight after Dynamis and Salvage if you're still interested >_>
Are those already listed in the game? It would make more sense to me if the "warriors" were the drgs/thf/blu/etc, and the "knights" were the lancers.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Strifelord actually does correspond to the warriors and Lancelord to the knights.
Jade Sepulcher CS's, Please check it.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Sagelord, Strifelord and Lancelord are mentioned, though its not explicitly stated which class they are representing. So it could be Lancelord - Knights, and Strifelord - Warriors.Originally Posted by fantasticdan
But, as far as the knights being lancers and the warriors being DRGs, I'd say the DRGs should be the lancers since they're the only job that can even use a lance. Sure, PLD/WAR/SAM can use polearms as well, but only DRGs can use the subset of polearms called "lances". Kinda like with swords, a lot of jobs can use swords but there's scimitar, gladius, rapier, etc. and each type has a different set of jobs that can typically use them.
So whether Strifelord or Lancelord is Knight or Warrior is up in the air, as far as confirmation via dialogue.
I'm pretty sure lancer or "Lancelord" in this case refers to cavalry, not polearms.Originally Posted by Khamsin
The description for the Mamool Ja fighters mentions "The warrior class of the Mamool Ja." The Strifelord is a Mamool Ja fighter.
Eh, maybe a spoiler so I'll make it small...
Did anyone think that it looked like Rishfee used Ultima before the Mamool Ja "killed" him?
I thought it looked like he used Actinic Burst.Originally Posted by Doombard
Question that is sort of off-topic: Do the Mamool Ja Sahagin/aquatics have any different abilities or traits than other Sahagin, other then they seem to be limited to MNK/WHM much like how Halvung Moblins seem to be limited to WHM/RDM? It would be kinda weird if they introduced new Sahagin with the Mamool Ja naming system but have them the same as ol' Elshimo Sahagin.
I think it was just a generic spell then white out to avoid showing him actually dying. It was so cute I thought he had a crush on Aphmau ; ; and he was my model!Originally Posted by Khamsin
Even though Rishfee may have died in Jade Sepulcher, since we are dealing with a storyline in which the doorway to the underworld is open. The ties between Rishfee and Aphmau may not be over just yet, I say he comes back. Rishfee also appears in other Tau quests besides just the missions.Originally Posted by Rocl
Also, does Ratol Ja talk like Yoda, too?
