    It seems like all the plugins and third-party programs that read data from the game are broken. ZeroCast, shadow and ammo counters, they're all broken. Perhaps they put some new guards into prevent people from accessing the memlocks for that kind of information. TParty still seems to work though.

    It's called Offsets. They change when new data is added to the main file.

    Just download the 3.24 package instead of the individual hook.dll is what they are saying.

    They won't ban people running windower.

    They'd lose way too much money.

    Hell, I can't play without it. I want to check forums and turn on/off winamp without logging out.

    Yeah, I've played FFXI and WoW at the same time, it doesn't kill it. Not sure where he got that idea from.

    FFXI gets (very) bitchy if something else takes fullscreen while it's running and will auto-terminate every time.

    I dunno if my post deserved its own thread so;

    It appears they actually are indeed scanning the processes, how ever, there is currently [as far as I could tell] nothing that allows them to do this in their TOS. They did not "Ninja" anything in.

    So I have a few questions to go along with this. Is this actually legal? You are NOT agreeing to allow them to do this, they do not inform you in anyway sort and or form [as far as I have been able to tell] that they are scanning processes. On that note, can anyone confirm there is nothing in the TOS? Maybe I had missed something.

    Using ProcessGuard you get this when loading Playonline;
    http://img96.imageshack.us/img96/83/blockwl4.jpg

    If you are running any other programs at the time, it will try to scan those.

    That being said, if anyone acually wants to sue SE according to this you can right now[again assuming I understood everything in their TOS]

    Also something interesting:
    http://www.file.net/process/pol.exe.html
    The process PlayOnline Viewer belongs to the software PlayOnline Viewer by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD.

    Description: File pol.exe is located in a subfolder of "C:\Program Files". Known file sizes on Windows XP are 641536 bytes (66% of all occurrence), 949760 bytes, 645632 bytes.
    The program has a visible window. It is not a Windows system file. Program listens for or sends data on open ports to LAN or Internet. It can change the behavior of other programs or manipulate other programs. pol.exe is able to record inputs, monitor applications. Therefore the technical security rating is 35% dangerous.
    Any input on this would be nice. I will be leaving for up north today and will be back Sunday. Interested in your replys.

    I noticed my UI mod I had installed got overwritten.. at least partially D:3 But seriously, what LW said, if they ban windower users before some flagrant asswipes who pos hack-claim nms... meh.. oft to wow i spose!

    This game falls under the sucks category without windower, it even says at the beginning "Please don't forget about your family, friends, etc etc" WELL I guess it'd be nice if I could check email or IM while in game.

    The only time I do not use windower is during updates because I suffered a horrible computer crash the last time it bailed at 99%. I pretty much had to reinstall windows and everything.. it was quite troublesome. I wouldn't sweat it if POL is looking for windower, I could care less.

    It never scanned prior to this update. I've been using Process Guard for months and this is the first time i received that message too.

    It scans EVERY process running, doesn't look for specific names, I added firefox.exe for testing and yea got message for firefox.exe too.

    I still think it can see the name launcher.exe in the scan though, to be safe I renamed mine to something that SE wouldn't see as Windower.
