I think it would have been great if in addition to changing how these nms were popped and killed and drop rates if they scaled up the difficulty of the fight. I would have loved it if it took a minimum of 12 people to kill sozu now. It would be awsome, people could still solo for the pop item but it would have at least made the fight against the nm more interesting. same thing for alky and pallas.

Is this game getting too easy? It seams like in like 6 months everyone will be decked out in the same shit.

There will always be gimps too lazy to get something easy to get. Only the people that actually want to get off thier ass and try to get stuff will have the items really. Just look at the gimp thread in the pictures section. Those people could do one mission solo and have the gil to upgrade to anything better.

Funny thing happened today. We pop Pallas, some butt-hurt people we had talked shit to killed my PLD that was slept + charmed. He called a GM and asked if it was a violation, and it wasn't. The GM stated that charmed people are considered NPCs, therefore its legit to kill them. Also, another thing before I go on. As far as I remember, Pallas always popped with pet bats, but it's been ages upon ages since i've camped. If that statement is right, then I can also remember not killing the bats = no one being charmed, correct me if i'm wrong. Also, assuming that my statement is fact, i'd have to say that the maintinence would deal with Pallas popping yellow + not having bats, but that's just assumption.

Anyways, moving on. Today was possibly the most glorious day i've had on FFXI since before the MPK patch. Being able to pop and kill Pallas/Alky? Priceless. Having a chance at some pretty decent gloves? Priceless. Being able to kill people and have them fear popping Pallas while your around? I lol'd.

BST mobs don't spawn with pets out. He has to jug; why would they fix that? It's normal mob behavior. Yes, you are correct though, if he has a pet, he won't charm. I'd put good money this is purely a fix to make Alky/Pallas pop claimed, not some dumb 100% drop fix.

Ah, well I just remember always seeing Pallas with his pet out. I wasn't inclining that they would change a BST mobs behavior. Well, good. Now we can kill more people up there. So fucking fun, lost 11k today lulz
