my theory is the hidden effect is that it acts like a kraken if you DON'T dual wield with kraken to prevent abuse.

this lets them create a rare/ex kraken that you can't use w/the regular version

I had the utterly foolish theory that perhaps, as Spelunker's Hat and Octave Club seem to be joke items, to use them together.

Square-Enix is all about "balancing" and trying their best to keep from making stuff that's useful. With that in mind, perhaps it's possible that you get your 2-8 hits with the club in exchange for the hit to accuracy from the hat.

I would bet good money that there is some way to turn an Octave literally into a Kraken. If there is some other way to get it to multihit, and you can dual wield with a Kraken, that is beyond broke.

One problem there, 8 hits is still the maximum per attack round even when dual-wielding. Dual-wielding 2 possible 8 hit weapons would be a total waste.

I like the theory of a trial weapon unlocking of it though, sounds logical, but then again so did bard songs and that didn't work. Only time and tests will tell.

the difference is that he said /nin. i said dual wield with kraken. the difference is in going main hand kraken, off hand nothing and still going /nin

SE removed KC to BC because they were afraid more stuff like what Apathy does would happend... Game would suck if everyone start TP burn everythin in one min with KC's. I doubt this O.club got any special hidden effect. SE just having fun! I hope so anyway..
