I'm guessing if you 'unlocked' the weapon, it'd actually read something along the lines of "Latent effect: occasionally attacks 2-8 times". Any other weapon that becomes unlocked has latent effect on the text.

Oh! How about it activates when your level is a multiplier of 8, which means they must be planning on increasing the level cap to 80 soon.

I'm gonna laugh if it kicks in when your level is a multiple of 8. So you can use it at 64 and 72.. thus not giving drks as much power as before o.O;

Our drk was /thf when we got the drop and he equipped it. It did not work.

My money is on:

1) Joke item.
2) Increases the multi-attack rate of Kraken Club when duelwielded together.
3) Something happens every 8 hits. Maybe a critical.

90% chance joke item, 5% chance gay latent, 5% chance dualed with Kraken. But it's very possible we just don't know it's use yet. It could be traded in a quest or something to obtain a Kraken...
