Maybe it only attacks 8 times a round if you are in an alliance and at least 8 people are engaged on the mob with it equipped main hand. And you have at least/only 8 buffs on, but at least one of those has to be a song (since it is a musical term after all).

And... um. You face SW by W (approx 8 o'clock on a compass), and have all 8 elemental staves in your inventory as well.

And at least 1 spell of every element is being cast simultaneously on the mob.

Sounds totally doable.

It tickles me pink that 90% of the people in this thread automatically assume that this club has some kind of use/purpose/hidden effect.

Kraken and anything kraken like is high-end, rare gear.

Out of the hundreds of items/equipment added in ToaU so far, <10% of it has been high-end, and the rest has been stupid crap, or transitional gear for the stupid/lazy/people without much time.

I'm calling 98% chance that this is just more stupid useless gear that no one will care about or use.

It's also possible that they just forgot to add the flags that would make it a R/E version of a Kraken Club (occasionally attacks 2-8 times.) That's what I'm banking on, anyway.
