    Well - you just always have to select the right floor (but sometimes the right one is the left one) .

    Anyways - we did Nyzul Assault yesterday - managed to complete floor 5 objective, but didn't save at floor 5. It appears that it WILL NOT save automatically on your Runic Disc by entering floor 6.

    You have to either save the data, or leave assault at level n*5. Well - you live and learn (and start from floor 1)

    Dynamis has 75 pieces of armor; 15 jobs, and 5 for each job; plus relic weapons, and Shadow Mantle and Ring. Of the 75 pieces of armor, how many are pieces you use a regular basis (situational included, but only pieces you deem worthy enough to bring to the situation they would be used for)?     Of the pieces you do use, how many are items you look at and say "wow, I want that item now"? Not very many, that's for sure.     I'm not an expert on AF+1, but if I recall correctly, people seem to go for about 15 of the 75 available pieces? And then there's Boxer's Mantle and Brutal Earring... And then of course you have the CoP "God armor" (Nashira/Homam), which are nice, but limited to 2 sets of gear and only a few jobs, much like sky's 1 set of gear for only a few jobs.


    But then take a look at the armor you can get from Salvage. It takes less people, more effort, a higher degree of strategy, and actual coordination.

    Something "Sky" never required, "Ground" doesn't require much of, except for the longer fights, and that's only enmity management.

    Dynamis's coordination is limited to pulling and dealing with monster 2HRs.

    "Sea" introduced it a little better, with monsters that make you think about what jobs you're bringing to the battlefield - one example being the obseletion of the question "Do we have an army of BLMs and a support party?" (case in point: Jailer of Temperance).

    Limbus is another Dynamis, but arguably implemented better, both with rewards and how it's played out, etc.


    I've forgotten exactly where I'm going with this, now.. but the general idea I had when I started this post was that I believe Salvage is a nice change, because it makes you work for what you're getting, and the rewards are amazing when you are finally able to complete them.

    Sure, Salvage has some problems, things that haven't been figured out yet, etc, but it's new. When has SE ever implemented something perfectly on the first try (besides Limbus >.>)?

    I'm sure I can find 25 item in limbus and dynamis that are worthwhile. (not that all 25 item in salvage are). Anyway, I dont want to derail the thread so I'm gonna stop here. I can PM you why I think this if you want to argue again about it badly.

    Eh, I'm not really sure where I was going with the whole thing anyway. And I did mean that Salvage has more "Wow" pieces than Dynamis and Limbus, not good pieces in general.

    I know you guys didn't want to derail but I wanted to add to what Wizerd said, in particular the fact the Salvage is an improvement in ways people had complaints against the other events, especially over dynamis, and especially in the sense of drops. Every AF piece in Dynamis--with the exception of Xarc and Buburimu NMs--is a rare drop compounded by a 1/15 chance that it will be your particular piece. Compared to Salvage where every piece--with the exception of the lvl 15 pieces in Bhaflau and Arrapago, which are common enough as it is--is either among a pool of drops from their respective mobs of which you are guaranteed one, and usually two, or are rare (and in the case of some Lv15 pieces, 100%) drops from specific NMs which allows for targeted farming.

    Also, it's a true instance, the absense of which used to be a common complaint levied against both Dynamis and Limbus in the past. The only real comparison I see to CoP dynamis is the pathos restriction compared to the SJ restriction, but the SJ restriction in Dynamis is just lol and a non-issue, whereas for every salvage zone except Bhaflau (and to a lesser extent, Silver Seas) it requires planning and foresight to determine to whom to give and in what order.

    Killed level 20 NM Twice, and killed level 40 NM once... and nothing to show for it. On floor 50 right now without a single NM drop.

    Nah, I've had songs restricted with no brd, it's just random. Thou I have done most of my nyzul isle as blu, I've never seen the pathos, while I've seen white/black magic a ton of times. I would guess the job specific ones are simply more rare; ninjitsu, songs, blue magic, etc.

    On floor 40 fought and killed Behemoth and got Askar Kahaks or Kaheks, the leg piece for WAR/DRK/etc.

    I do want to ask though, I've looked all up and down this forum and can't find one of the very first posts which had a data mined list of all the mobs in Nyzul Isle, did this get removed or can anyone still find it?

    Hit Floor 20 for the first time (my static's been slow; we doubled our progress last night oi), fought Behemoth. We won with about 12 seconds left on the clock with two people dead (and no chainspell) and those rad blu feet dropped. Meh. Anyways...

    When we fought Behemoth, we dragged him over to the rune of transfer to avoid the Rampart, and when he wedged himself into the corridor, he would NOT turn around. Our paladin was tanking him from behind, getting SATAed (which was damned nice), but when, about halfway through (and we're getting down to the wire on time), he starts SPAMMING Kickout. Nothing we can do will get him to turn around, and there was no decent space in front of him to tank in front (he was -really- wedged in there). Our bard died three times from Kickout, and the last one (which did 200 damage to everyone else and 982 to my loldrg) killed me.

    Has anyone experienced this? I don't know if it's a pathing glitch, but after watching Besieged mobs run up ledges and fall into walls, I'm hesitant to suggest that Behemoth -couldn't- turn.

    I'll admit, I'm not terribly familiar with Behemoth fights, but the people with me who are very familiar expressed confoundment at its behavior. If we could have turned it around and prevented kickout, I think we could have at least passed the boots quicklike and dashed out. As it was, we barely got out in time to save our progress, and the boots were lost.

    Mobs like Behemoths, Dragons, Wyrms and the CoP HNMs won't turn unless they are forced to actually move a small distance. You should have just pulled it out of that space until it positioned itself the way you wanted.

    One other thing, someone mentioned above they fought Behemoth at floor 20.

    I fought him at floor 40 so it's safe to say the same HNM can appear on different floors and drop different gears??

    Something i just thought about, if people could maybe say on what floor up they get a choice on, and if they get a left or right option, and which they chose, might be able to figure out if there is a pattern to positive or the negative buffs on floor ups.

    Example of idea in my head.

    On floor3, choose right to go up, get pathos'd.

    Another group, gets choice on floor 7, but chooses left, gets buff.

    If you get what im tryin to get at, yay, and would be SE like to do something so easy/dumb for buffs/debuffs

    i'd like to believe the JSE weapons are already in their final form because it isnt usually like SE to release deliberately related content on different updates..

    like if various stages of such JSE weapons actually did exist they'd put them all in the dats at once...?

    theres still more than meets the eye for these pieces of eq.. hopefully some other people will be willing to clear memory for another weapon drop too.. and test the weapon thoroughly for some interesting results.

    has anyone gotten 2 of the same item to drop from the same floor? like has anyone had askar feet drop on floor 20, farmed it again and had askar drop again on the same persons disc?

    i ask this because i had a hunch that SE was gonna make it so that only 1 piece of each set will drop on a single disc. my group is at 71 on my disc but we go back and farm 16-20 on someone elses disc when i run out of tokens. we've done 16-20 three times on that disc and have gotten each piece one time.

    i hope its not like this but its just something i thought about and figured its a possibility.

    Some friends of mine have gotten denali jacket twice from floor 80.
