On that note one of the pathos is 'Spellcasting time up'
It turned 8 sec songs into about 12 seconds~
I always go left at a crossroads and seem to get good stuff rather than bad crap.

Spellcasting time +50% perhaps?Originally Posted by Imperial
Yeah, seemed like that. Affected all types of magic too; summoning, ninjutsu etc, so wasn't a specific type.Originally Posted by Sagacious Sundi
Well, we just cleared and got WAR axe. Starting our second disc now, and we'll be sure to run as many tests on this thing as we can. We'll keep you posted with what we find.

Lame that Headpieces aren't 100%. They should be alot better then they are for the work involved in getting them.
Congrats, I think?

Did ya test it to see what the hell 4% means on those gloves? Better or worse than z.mitts?Originally Posted by sekaran
teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeest where!? thanks
Are you asking "Where are the tests?" or are you saying "I have these, where do I go to test them?"Originally Posted by Judai
lol, I'm asking where are the tests. Don't have them or I would have just run out somewhere and nuked something. Thunder 4 with Z.Mitts, Sleep, Thunder 4 with Golliard, test complete.
My group should hit F60 on Sunday though. Maybe they will dorp. :o
Here are the quick Thunder IV(5/5 Merit) tests I did.
No additional MAB/INT gear outside of hand slot on a Lesser Colibri(39exp, no Sanction):
Zenith: 710
Goliard: 705
Wizard's +1: 693
MAB+11, INT+27, Jupiter's Staff on a Lesser Colibri(36exp, no Sanction):
Zenith: 967
Goliard: 961
Wizard's +1: 946
My thinking is that the additional magic accuracy over Zenith, and no -HP(For a Taru anyways..) outweigh the small difference in damage. They're the best RDM gloves I have as well.. :/
Interesting.. I wonder if you put on a huge ass magic attack build if that will put them over the top.
Well.. When I get up there I'll let you know.
Jacky I hope you get your goddamn boots soon T_T
Don't have much more in MAB gear outside of Weskit, Moldavite, and the gloves. Sold my Sorc. Ring a long while ago when I started gearing up for more -enmity. I'll have to try using Uggalepih Pendant in a later test. Forgot about it this time. Person selling Novio on Garuda never answers my tells asking about price![]()
funny that my friend and i were discussing these gloves last night
i dont remember his exact gear, he's pretty well geared though, but he said something like his MAB modifier in the damage calculation is like 1.68 ... if the gloves did infact give an extra 4%, that'd push his number to 1.7472 whereas if it was just +4 MAB it'd be 1.72 correct?
so i guess you'd only really see the difference is with stacking lots of MAB
did i totally misunderstand him, or does this sound about right?
0 gear from nyzul for me so far :3Originally Posted by tyraravenlocke

Can you do this:Originally Posted by sekaran
Your sig says you have a 75 BLM. Next time you are in Bastok (or Windurst) go out to North Gustaburg (or East Sarutabaruta), unequip all your gear except the goliard hands and nuke a Huge Hornet (or Tiny Mandragora) just outside the city entrance with a tier 4 spell that is unrelated to the current day's element. Report here how much INT you had, if you have any merits in the element of the spell you cast, and how much damage it did. Then add any gear you have that adds MAB in other slots (don't worry about stuff that requires latent like pendant or ring, though) and repeat the cast, reporting the new total INT, the difference in MAB, and the new damage.
The reason I ask is because we know the INT for those mobs, and while it should be possible to determine the lesser colibiri's INT from your zenith and AF+1 casts above, you appear to have less INT than the target which makes it a little trickier. Also, you used a staff in the 2nd cast and while it's easy to factor that in, it'd be better to leave it out just because it's an irrelevant term that could lead to error if the bonus from goliard is calculated in some unique way. Using data from the starter zones we can just calculate it from the ground up and figure out how it fits in.

Oo another weapon. Grats on the great axe. Maybe now people are coming closer to finding out what these weapons are good for??
Actually, now that I refrlect on it, 4% magic attack bonus up is most likely worthless.
So.. lets say you have 100 magic attack bonus:
(which I THINK is already impossible)
That would give you all of +4 magic attack bonus from the gloves.
Which .. is sadly clearly less than zenith.
Now were the goliard to have some say.. int on them.. it might be another story... but they dont.. so.
Still though sek.. I can let you borrow my ugly and my sorc's ring... You already have a genie right?
I'm also assuming you still have afv2 pants and elemental obis, which while we know they increase damage.. may or may not do it via MAB... but I suppose its a testable thing eh?
I'm by far no math expert like Aurik or anything, but from looking at his numbers real quick, I don't think it's far out to say its a normal MAB bonus. 4 vs 5.
It all depends on how it's calculated. For example, base MAB for a 75 BLM with no gear or merits is +32. So if it's calculated as 32*1.04 that's equivalent to just MAB+1. But if it's calculated as 132 * 1.04 or 1.32 * 1.04 then that's equivalent to MAB+5. BRP is right though, just eyeballing it, it looks like it's simply MAB+4 misprinted as "MAB+4%", but hopefully he will do the test I recommended above so we can know with greater certainty.
