God we did floor 41-45 I think it was last night... first floor - kill all, with a smiling Roc to greet us... 2 floors later - kill all with Roc back again.

Finally got runic key yesterday.. on a pretty epic run.
Kill group, 5 flayers... no white magic.
I normally go DRG/WHM to Nyzul.. this time for some reason I came DRG/BLU. This made the difference between a wipe and an annoying floor. Our RDM/WHM was pretty much reduced to nuking.. and between spamming healing breaths, Healing Breeze and wyvern -na breaths, no one died.
later on, Cerberus boss with about 7 mins. 3x Gates of Hades after a few lengthy stoneskins killed 3 of our members after fanatics drinks wore. RDM was out of MP keeping the rest alive. Guess who came to the rescue? Wuffi!
Honestly.. if you bring a DRG to Nyzul.. tell them to go /mage, preferrably /BLU.
We kill NMs if we have time and/or if they're really in the way, otherwise we leave them. Droprate is so low on them it's really not efficient to focus on them to the detriment of the rest of the run.
We've had a few decent drops but nothing that's worth a ton. Three Spelunker's Hats, nadrs, viking shield, mushroom help, gloom claymore, DRK pants I forgot the name of, lohar, a few other bits and pieces. One or two items that are nice to have, but nothing you'd actually go out and camp like it was important (unless you have a thing about the sword from CCC I guess).
I typically do DRG/BLU for climbing, but DRG/SAM for boss floors. But yeah, DRG/BLU is a powerhouse in Nyzul. For a 'kill all' floor, I typically go one way, the rest of the group goes the other.

So last night we did two floor 20 drops, because it seems everyone needs Askar feet.... we got pup'd twice, inferno claws ftl.
We always get crap drops from NMs, and now that the Mega bosses drop Weapons, we usually just get a weapon instead of armor. Maybe we just having bad luck lately.
Obtained Runic Key on Mon. It was quite close, we entered the NM floor with two members needing to recover and one member fell right as entered the floor due to bio. We had ~5min left at that point so we decided to just cure to full as much as we could and zerged Khimera. Beat him in 1min ftw.
did floor 100 with 1minute to spare (really shitty floors), killed khim @ 30seconds left in zone. 1st goliard hat dropped. frantically, some passed, some lotted, the mission failed, cause waiting for item to drop into inventory. As getting booted out, the hat drops into inventory after the mission fail message. exit zone, hat in inventory. Originally armor was lost if the mission was failed, wonder if there was a change in that or just dumb luck. got a screen if the sequence.
No change as far as I know. Either everyone had lotted/passed in time and there was a chatlog delay of a couple seconds, or dumb luck and the last person to be kicked out of the zone was someone who hadn't passed and had open inventory space.
I'd wager that as dumb luck.
My static had a similar thing happen for the first time a couple days ago on our first run of the evening (out of 3 floor 60s). We killed Cerberus just right before the "The mission has failed. Leaving area." message appeared. To top it off, it dropped Goliard and the next thing we knew we were out of the zone.

I don't recall anyone mentioning they got the weapon or the hands; they dropped too late for anyone to lot or pass, I'd say.
I think Cream Soda pointed out on KI that if you forcefully disconnect your character from Nyzul Isle before the timeout, you'll obtain the items when you log in.
Based on the way he (Cream Soda) described it, whoever disconnects last will get the item.
While it's not literally nyzul related, the person lotting currency in my dynamis LS tried to force d/c himself at the end, last mob we killed dropped BLM and SOMEHOW we got everyone to pass in 10 seconds (a good 35+ solid people), which has never happened with us before. He passed and then d/c'ed.
It worked, he got every currency drop. So I can't see how this wouldn't work in Nyzul as well. I'll have to try this next time my group does Nyzul as I'm like one of two people that want something-that-isn't-askar (we get flooded with it).
It does work in Nyzul. I believe it also works in Salvage. If you're transported to another zone for an event, you can always DC to keep your character in the zone and get the drops since (One again this is how CS put it) your character won't be able to transport out of the area until you reconnect.
Only NM drops we've gotten is a peacock amulet, mary's horn, and some rare/ex level 21 sword with additional effect water damage. Our drops from bosses are also crap, 3/20 denali hands x2 and gollard<sp> head....
We got a dryad staff. This is generally win. However I have one as I camped Roc for 2-3 weeks over last Christmas and the guy who really wants one couldn't make it cos his monitor is dead.
Says it all really. Still, hoping to get my runic key this week and have another shot at the 'hands that will not drop'. Some askar, last pair we need.
