    Nyzul - Yay or Nay?

In terms of fun, challenge, and uniqueness so far, do you think Nyzul Assault is better than... let's say Salvage?

So far it's some of the most fun I've had in the game, an absolute blast. I'm DYING to do more of this, and the randomness will keep it fresh I think, especially as you get to deeper floors, and the challenges possibly change. I just can't get enough of this place.

Salvage is damn fun, I just wish there were smaller drops available to make it easier to get people to do it. Nyzul has potential.

Far better than salvage, but far from perfect. They really overemphasized the race against the clock nature of this, meaning that 2/3s of the jobs in the game are decidedly sub-par for it and that bad luck can torpedo your progress.

I just blasted 4 tags on it, and have to say I enjoyed it even though it was more than a little stessful. Then we got boned by a Light in Order floor on the fourth run. Not. Fucking. Happy.

I'm not going to make a final judgment call until we figure out how those new armor sets are obtained, or even if they have any tie to this.

It is a lot of fun, though.

I had an absolute blast doing Nyzul Isl last night. I definitely think it's a step in the right direction. The 30minute time limit is somewhat irritating, but i'm sure that'll pass once everything is figured out and you know how everything works. Even though I think Salvage is fun, it feels too much like Limbus and Dynamis. Nyzul Isl has so far proven to be somewhat unique, to me atleast.

I think it's too early to tell atm but Nyzul has some serious possibilties.

Well, reward wise from what I've seen, no.

Were you expecting Ridills on the first set of floors??

I didn't enjoy Nyzul Isle much. I also think the rewards are, for the most part, pretty shitty. If all we can expect from this are doing months worth of UNBELIEVABLY repetitive tasks just to get to the higher level floors, just to get a shitty drop rate on Ridills, then no thanks. At least Salvage has some variety and you aren't doing the same shit every time. While the floors and objectives in Nyzul Isle are random, there is only so many they can choose from as we've seen already, and even after only doing it twice, it got really old really fast. Especially considering you get 0 assault points from it.

For me, personally, I don't think I'm going to be doing much of Nyzul Isle anymore.

It's fun until you hit one of those rooms with the lamps as they're a major time-sink...

Otherwise, I like the randomness of it (even though the areas are extremely repetitive looking), aside from when white magic gets blocked out. >.>
(in other words, be sure to bring a BLU ;/ )

You would've preached that either way, since it cock-blocks salvage. Yeah, I think the chance at the drops from a list of 35(ish) sought after NMs is a really shitty reward too!

The entire game is increadibly repetitive. I don't really know what variety Salvage has since its the exact same thing everytime, unless you're talking about the cell-droprate or specifically going for cards/slots/etc. You're also judging a droprate that nobody has even seen as a failure, and saying its too time consuming to be worthwhile. Its just increadibly funny since you were throwing a hissy-fit about people wanting things to be easy and instant, and when Square gives something that takes a while to complete its not worth it.

And tell me, how is that any different from spamming assault trying to get a Divisor Ring?

Have many people tried it with fewer than 6 people yet? Most of the screenshots I've seen so far have 6 people in them. My Assault perma has 4 people, and I was hoping to do this area with the same group. I'm actually the one with the fewest jobs at 75, so we're definitely flexible enough...if 4 people can progress here at all.

I thought it would be alot of fun, but now that I've spent four tags there I really don't feel the same way. Getting jammed with "order the candles" over and over is really irritating. I hope the higher floors are nothing like this.

Glad you asked. It's different for the following reasons:

    1) When spamming assaults for a Divisor Ring, even if I don't get a Divisor Ring, I can still get Assault Points. for people with multiple jobs, they may need as many as 60,000 Assault Points from each of 5 areas if they want all the pieces. That's a lot.

    2) When spamming assaults for a Divisor Ring, I am also working towards a rank up. This is not the case with Nyzul Isle.

    3) when spamming assaults for a Divisor Ring, there are other possible rewards. Namely, the Ataractic Solea, although since there are other Assaults which have highly sought after items, we can't limit ourselves to just Divisor Ring and the Solea.

    4) When spamming assaults for a Divisor Ring, I'm also earning points to spend on Salvage.

To address Xavier's question of how is it any different from Salvage, it's different because in Nyzul Isle you don't have to think. All you do is check the pole, and it either tells you a) Kill all the shit on the floor, b) Kill some shit on the floor, or c) Light the lanterns. Here's the responses when you find out which one it is:

    a) Fuck, this floor is gonna eat up too much time, one more floor like this and we prolly won't make it to 5.
    b) Yay, an easy floor.
    c) We're fucked.

There's only 5 possible moments in Nyzul Isle where you're not sure what's going to happen next. Those 5 moments are immediately before you check the rune of transfer at the beginning of each floor, and the moment is over immediately. In Salvage, you don't know what's going to happen next for pretty much the entire 100 minutes.

I like it a lot because it reminds me of MFing from heroi.... I mean Diablo II.

Fuck this floor, if one more magic cell doesn't drop we're fucked. FUCK no magic cell.

Seriously dude, stfu. It has just now been 24hrs and you are bitching about shit you don't know. You don't know if the objectives change after say, 20 levels. Or how the drop rates are. Barely anyone has tried it yet, stop bitching about shit you don't have a clue on.

you stfu lol, i wasn't bitching. the thread specifically asked do you like it, why or why not. Should the original post be qualified with (if not, STFU and get out of my thread)? I don't like it, therefore I fail to see how my response was anything short of perfectly satisfactory.
