Also, I was right about Duke being no higher than 6. That's cool, but VCU.. ouch. I'm gonna hope VCU puts them down.

When you lose to Cal by 30, New Mexico by 24, and play in the much weaker division of the conference, you're not getting in. Also doesn't help that they only beat 3 tournament teams: Tech, USC, and Texas. Tech won the matchup in the regular season, played a much, much better in and out of conference schedule (beat Texas A&M twice) and also had to play a game the night before the KSU tourney game. Unfortunately for my favorite piece of shit coach in college basketball, the KSU football scheduling philosophy (cupcake central) will screw you over in college basketball.

This is by far the best job the committee has done in terms of bubble teams in my recent memory. The only ones I’d have differently is to have Drexel in place of either Stanford or Arkansas. I applaud them leaving Syracuse and Air Force out. I have been arguing for nearly 3 weeks that Syracuse should not have been the lock that every media writer put them as. Their RPI was far too low in comparison to other bubble teams and I believe they did not play a single road game in the non-conference. Air Force ruined their chances by losing their last 4 games in a mid-major conference.

NC State is playing better than 90% of the teams in the tournament, they still didn't deserve to get in. Plus, again, tech had to play a game the night before...I'd put more stock into the victory if both teams had been fully rested.

Bottom line, the commitee sent a msg to the major conference teams: playing a shitty non-conference schedule and getting an easy conference schedule isn't a ticket to the Big Dance. Maybe Syracuse will leave the state of New York before conference play next year...though Boehim is such a ninny I doubt it. Of course, they also sent a msg to the mid majors...no matter how many times you play and win on the road against the majors, you'll get bumped by a mediocre major team that happens to win 2-3 games in their conference tournament.
