Counters don't generate TP either.Originally Posted by layoneil

Use a k.club with Defender and no attack gear, maybe? Or would it still cause damage? Or maybe a merc kris.
(unrelated note, if a DMG on a weapon is less than 9, does that mean the wrank is 0?)
Nobody wears attack gear for souleater anyways. There are better things from different subs for kclub than WAR as well. That would be a waste of a sub when you can use DRG or something.Originally Posted by Khamsin

The point was you don't want to try to get her to counter because you'll feed tp in the process. Complicated, I know.of course, you don't want to really feed her TP, but what if ... ?
But if people were concerned about giving a mob TP, they wouldn't use a DRK in the first place, much less a Kraken DRK.Originally Posted by Plow

I don't mean for Souleater, I just mean for trying to get a counter without feeding TP. Though I imagine that it probably would be a similar setup to souleater k.club setup since you wouldn't want the k.club to cause any damage during that, either.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus

I don't think you normally would have a trouble hitting the spikes' cap on HNM, no need for countering.Originally Posted by Khamsin
I thought he was talking about using Dread Spikes during Kraken DRK to maximize damage dealt to the mob, not to specifically tank it. In which case, maybe that DRK JSE with all the Damage +% effects might be more beneficial to wear while Dread Spikes is in effect?Originally Posted by Plow
it gives tp when you hit for 0 anyway no? it does on invincible at least
edit in response to jer: that might be a good idea for lower level stuff that's not going to eat it all, but I think it's all going to get eaten most of the time. maybe combined with nin sub with some good haste
Correct. No tanking, just kinda use the counters to your advantage. Ideally you would want a low delay weapon, since you would get more swings and feed less TP/swing. If you hit for 0, does it give your TP+2 still? (i.e. 2 TP) Or does it give the amount of TP that you would get if you had hit for 1+ dmg (X+2 TP)?Originally Posted by Jeryhn
It is +2 right? It's been a loooonnggg time since I've bothered to think about it.
I see, I thought you were talking about tanking cuz you quoted rag talking about using drk tank pt.Originally Posted by Alathar
I suppose just attacking him from the front would depend on the reliability of getting the counter to proc, but I'm thinking in order to justify the tp you'll be giving you'd have to be doing some pretty good damage beyond just the spikes.
Or does it give 0? I could have sworn 0 damage to a mob meant 0 TP.Originally Posted by Alathar
YOU get 0 TP for sure. I'm pretty sure the mob gets some TP though. How much, I do not know, however.Originally Posted by Khamsin
Hm.. I thought I've killed mobs before with ceremonial dagger and enspell and not had them TP move me, but its been awhile.Originally Posted by Alathar
Dread spikes didnt get resisted once after 2 days of playing as DRK [Fighting worthwhile-IT mobs also some nyzul assualt mobs inculding the NMS]
Playing as DRK with full homam (Dark magic skill+0)
Only place i noticed it being gimped ver is besigned mobs hit me 300 and i get 40-60 back only
Where else it can be resisted?
No, mobs don't get TP if you hit for zero damage.Originally Posted by Alathar
