JoL on 3/11 on Titan dropped Novio only.
3/4 on Torques
2/4 on Enmity Earring
2/4 on Magic Attack
JoL stats for us. I'm glad the drop rates on the pop items have increased, could this be a sign of AV being fixed? Lol. Wishful thinking yet again.
killed JoL last monday, torque drop![]()
no AV pop
going to do another one this sunday
Except in my nuking gear, I'd be down 6 ele skill versus other BLMs who opted to max Elemental (though I don't have that number in front of me atm, though as I recall, without the earring I was just below a believed tier).Originally Posted by Elipse
You can have all the MAB you want and your resist rate won't change a bit. At least INT and Elemental skill help there.
When I got my cape it was a double-drop. No, I don't have a screenieOriginally Posted by Slautman

edit: NVM I see what you are loling about. Still, there are some situational mobs where the wizards gloves+1 (INT +3 and elemental skill +15) are more perferable over Zenith Mitts.Originally Posted by Quicklet

Figured this didn't merit its own thread but, regarding,
We killed Temperance earlier, first time since the update. Now instead of charging up and doing three consecutive Optic Indurations, he only does two. Also I believe he only 2Hed twice in the fight instead of the usual three, but I was semi-afk for part of it doing drops so I won't guarantee that.Originally Posted by Patch Notes
Mm, I guess with our fights mostly being things like Tiamat and Cerberus, some Baha2 thrown in, and my BLM being utilized in low man Salvage fights and such, I worry more about resists than MAB. /shrug. Ask any of my fellow BLMs in my LS, too, I'm a psycho about Burn staying on mobs it'll land on.Originally Posted by Lordender

Killed Ix'drg twice over the past couple days, nothing hugely different about him except Virelai from the Wynavs now go through shadows as if it were a ga spell. Least I'm pretty sure this is new, if not I fail.
Deed both times.
Burn isn't really going to do anything for resists though...Mm, I guess with our fights mostly being things like Tiamat and Cerberus, some Baha2 thrown in, and my BLM being utilized in low man Salvage fights and such, I worry more about resists than MAB. /shrug. A mob's INT has a direct effect on damage it takes from spell but I am tend to agree that it has some effect on resists rates, albiet small. An example is Kirin, who can still resists spells continuously even with 350+ in elemental skill gear, but from what people have said here and other forums, if you have more INT (from gear and etudes), you see more consistent nukes.
Has anyone ever created a mob's magic defense equation (ie spell damage x mMDB x elemental skill factor x (maybe) INT factor)?
Um... maybe we've read different ideas on BLM then, because there is some school of thought about your INT vs mob INT having some impact on resist and damage. /shrugOriginally Posted by Quicklet

the old arguments are still the best!!
I can't believe some people have 75 BLM and still don't know about how INT helps you be unresisted on super high level mobs. I thought that was common knowledge by now. If a mob has twice your INT, Elemental skill doesn't mean shit. It's why I ask for Etude on Kirin always, and I'm not resisted near as much as without.
Going all-out Elemental magic gear won't do much if you are sacrificing a butt-load of INT. That's why AF1+1 mitts are godly IMO.
Anyway, on topic: This change is wonderful, I do the schedule for my LS and I'm gonna start putting sea back on our agenda, before the change people complained it was a waste of time.

I tend to avoid KI job-specific forums in general, so more of my ideas come from my own comparisons and chatting with findings with other LSmates. I can fight Fafnir on BLM and not get one single resist in my nuke setup, not elemental skill setup - pull hate once or twice if I need to but survive getting hit; and I can watch another BLM in another shell who is all out damage, including a Novio he bought from RMT and HQ everything and Sorc Ring and whatnot and unless he's MBing he gets resists 8 times out of 10; and when he does MB he gets hate and dies at least once a Fafnir fight. Which is more practical?
