Reset Router and Modem. I'm online. I feel so dumb atm.
I guess I'll be out for the weekend then. I don't use a Router & I have no idea how to change my IP address on my cable modem. Unplugged it a few times with it getting the same IP back as before in the properties menu so I'm stuck.
unplugging cable and resetting router worked for me.
Basically everytime a remote computer gains access to the internet, it will ask the local DHCP server to give it an IP address to use. Sometimes however the DHCP server will give you back the same IP address you previously had, if you stop and restart immediately.Originally Posted by EssEnnKay
Try waiting a few minutes when u unplug your modem.
Ya non of this is working and still haveing the same problem in the morning R0ing in certian areas. i cant get my 2nd char out of Zi tai cause hes lvl 30 ><
Problem just got worse here. Was in Upper Jeuno which was fine for me yesterday, then all of a sudden I DC'd. Trying to log back in now and stuck at Retrieving Friends list. Something is seriously broken. Whether it's on their end or not doesn't really matter...they could at least investigate beyond their own servers and help the players figure out what's going on. I forget if it was WoW or another MMO, but something similar happened with a certain ISP and they were both working together to fix the problem.
Unplugged it for about 30 minutes then replugged it back in. It keeps giving me my old IP address.Originally Posted by Tyrn
SE fucked something up with the NA patch, because JP Clients work fine
Clearly not NA limited clients, its a server on the way in. Trying to reset my modem and get a new IP for it.Originally Posted by Pawky
Edit: Can't even log in now. Definately a bad sign.
I didn't have any problems yesterday but today logging on in whitegate I had it, tried 10 times and there is no way to get out because the door to Al Zahbi was closed because of R0 and to thickets aswell so I had someone log on me and get me out because GMs wouldn't do anything. Out of 5 zones (Al Zahbi, Whitegate, Halvung, Thickets & Zhayolm) Whitegate and Halvung are dead zones for me.
At the moment I am just meriting on BLM in Zhayolm (friend had to get me through Halvung) hoping the problem fixes itself soon ;;
OK this is retarded. On a hunch I unplugged the ethernet cable and hooked it up via the USB port and I'm back online.
What the hell is happening here?
Not sure...I made it back ingame, but have been disconnecting randomly every 5-10 minutes now in Upper Jeuno (which used to be fine). I usually can log back in instantly.
changed my IP as stated, nothing. Disconnected the router and unplugged the modem for a while then replugged, nothing...
this isnt an NA only problem.. am euro and have euro ffxi version.. and i still have this retarded R0 problem
I'm playing from Canada on Shaw Cable and have been getting the FFXI-3113 Error for around 24 hours now. I called Shaw and said there isn't a problem on their end (not that they know anything about FFXI). While testing stuff out with them I noticed something interesting. When I unplug my internet from my Wireless Linksys router and connect directly into my lap lop FFXI works fine. This prompted me to give Linksys a call. After trying various things with them including running my router in DMZ mode they gave up and told me they would send me a new router lol. Though I don't really think it's broken. Has anyone else had similar issues with their router?
P.S I've reset both router and modem a few times and had no luck.
EssEnnKay, isn't the ethernet cable completely different than plugging it into the usb port?
same issues, my dead zone so far is Port jeuno. D:
Its most likely a hub server that sends the information in/out/to the server farm. This means that the packets coming in are lost or being randomly forgotten. Causing the disconnects between zones and search functions. Though it doesn't seem like it at the same time....
This happened last year...should be fixed in 3 days >.>:
stuck in monarch linn, only way out is through npcs... yeah <_<
lol
I got JP client and it still can't work. I'm believe it is some kind of routing issue since it only work when we plug directly into modem, instead through router which keep block the FF login server IP address.Originally Posted by Kattice
