I have 3 machines in my house with FFXI.....
My PC, my PS2 and my bros PC....
I have issues with Giddeus on my PC and PS2 so far....
My brother can't get into Metalworks on his...but I can on mine.....I was stuck in neverending d/c loop in giddeus while going to KS99.....my friend logged me on and got me to Balgas'Dais which worked for me....
Got 2 characters stuck in Giddeus before someone logged me on to get me to the Burning Circle..
Lots of times the play button won't show up when I start up the game...takes several times for it to appear (this has been going on for a week or so)...
Now while it is entirely possible that some sort of routing issue, is causing certain packets to be lost....to me the fact thats its people from all over North America and even some Europeans having this problem....and it being different zones etc. for people , I find it kind of hard to believe its pure coincidence....although it could be...
SE claiming no responsibility and offering no suggestoins on alleviating the problem, in addition to their lack of communication fails..I got the automated GM message saying its my fault not theirs...
I wonder if it has to do with it being a weekend there :/
In any even this brings back memories to me (and I am sure others on this board are old school enough to remember) of when they fucked up Steam Cleaner on some servers for a couple months (I think it was that long) and claimed people were popping it wrong...
Then one day they did maintainence....and all of a sudden Steam Cleaner popped again...back then it was pretty much sky sky sky! And being cockblocked on Kirin by Steam Cleaner was really fucking gay
GMs and SE were both useless during that time..
GMs said that they can't discuss game strategy and perhaps we were popping it wrong and I never remember SE acknowledging this problem...
IDK but this situation brings back memories of that, hopefully its just a routing issue and it blows over.
Anyone still getting Error Code:3113 Protocol Time out Error?
I tried reseting my modem, and plugging directly into it, still the same. GM's tell me its on my side, and not theres.
On ps2.
I cant be the only one who keeps checking this thread hoping to see a post saying SE fixed this horrible problem..
I'm fine on all of 20 areas I checked EXCEPT south sandy. And I just was dumb enough to zone to it >.>;
I feel bad about those on the airship.
indeed, it makes the game unplayable if you happen to get stuck in some areas. Very frustrating.Originally Posted by Pawky
We have shouts about it in whitegate at the moment. I reset mine so I could get to sky earlier, I ended up moving one of my dead zones to zitah and it takes about 15 mins to naviagte that dcing every couple of minutes. At least there is no aggro.
Relcutantly had to let someone log me on to get CC for limbus yesterday as well.
Doing KS99 as we speak, my bf had to log me on and run me to Balgas Dais. -.- In Lower Jeuno, I "solved" the problem by entering mog, dcing, exiting mog in Ru'Lude, dcing, then logging back in.
Zoned into E Saruta from Tahrongi, and couldn't even get my char to load, just got Welcome to Valefor, black screen, watching my R start at 0, and Send going down and down and down... Bah. This is getting really fucking aggrivating. I'm waiting for him to tell me I'm there so I can log in, and hopefully the BC area won't be one of my dead zones.
Heh, I wish I could R0 in a dead zone. Why? Because I have'nt been able to log in since thursday, yep almost 3 days now. I've been getting error 3113 and can't get past acquiring player data. I have tried everything suggested from many forums and nothing works. Am I upset about this? Absolutely. What can I do about it? Well Yesterday I went to see 300 @ IMAX, awesome and went to a casino during the afternoon then went out with friends for the rest of the evening. Now I'm almost out of cash and out of things to do and I need my gd ffxi to work now pleaseI am calling them tomorrow and they will hear an ear full from me. My guess is I will get hung up on, heh.
Still unable to get on as well. Can't even find out if I have and R0 zones. I only get continual POL-1363s.
Don't feel so bad... I've been offline since friday due to ping related issues. I can get in game no problem, but every command takes a good 7-8 seconds to go through, and I have to wait till wendsday till an internet technician can come fix the issue. Overall, I've missed 2 dynamis runs + my weekly limbus run. Thank god for FFXII and grinding XP/Gil off Mirrorknights (god why can't XI have mobs like that)Originally Posted by Gladiator
We had the same problem (playing on PCs), but then bf changed the modem's IP and now we can connect. Getting dead zones now but it's better than nothing.Originally Posted by Sticks
Still very much pissed, though.
If you just unplug your modem and router, will it change your IP? I have had the issue where I can't even get past the "Acquiring Player Data" part all weekend. I have tried to unplug the modem and router, but nothing changed. The way my place is set up, it is impossible to plug my computer directly into the modem.
What I find odd about this whole situation, is that before when I R0ed while moving, it would put me at my original position, not put me at the last place I was when I R0ed. For example, La Theine is a dead zone to me, I teleported Holla and made a b-line for Jugner (which was also a dead zone), but not once did I get an R packet, yet the server knew my position when I was disconnected. So I guess it appears that the clients are sending data, and the server is accepting them. But the server just isn't sending it back?
My observations on the matter anyway.
nope, the only ip u can change is your LAN, however changing modem ip will require calling your ISP.Originally Posted by Synbios
A lot of newer devices allow you to clone a mac address from another device(or set it to anything you want)- so that if you're using something like ADSL you don't need to call them to set it to your other MAC. Since ADSL uses MAC filtering to determine who gets service- and who doesn't.Originally Posted by Tyrn
Strange update on my character, Eles. He's stuck in Yhoator Jungle and I always get an immediate R0->server timeout issue with him. However, with my mules in San d'Oria and Windurst I can log them in just fine and stay connected. Additionally, I asked a friend and there are 32 ppl in Yhoator Jungle at the time of this posting. Going to try disconnecting and reconnecting my cable modem and see what happens there.
I r0'd in Yhoater too, but Den/Temple were OK zones for me. Tell him to just connect and if he can move his character run for a zone, tha'ts how I made it across Yhoater Jungle.
I just managed to do that. Tried it a few times and got frustrated getting lost before I timed out, but I just made it to Yuhtunga.Originally Posted by HAcoreRD
I just realized it has to be SE's fault because I remember camping shikigami weapon in ro'meave 1 day after the big update, and it was fine.
Ro'meave is a R0 zone for me for past 3 days, so something went wrong somewhere a couple days after big update and now. The only thing that SE did was I think the Pallas spawn patch.

Come to think of it, you're right >.> I was going through Ru'Lude just fine before the next update for Pallas lol...since then nuh uh. Wtf did they do? x.x;; still problems with all areas previously mentioned by me btw, 3 days running
