If it's what they say it is, I don't understand how some people are able to login to their mules without any problems, and just not their main characters. (This is about the disconnects in various zones while logged in.)

Honestly, I'm not so sure about that now. Something tells me that this is some sort of across the board DNS issue, maybe a down backbone or something that's fux0ring the works up.

Not sure if this helps any but I can log in with my mules but not my main. Main near sandy, but sandy mule works fine... Timewarner ftl.

This happened a few years ago too. Every ffxi in north east on optimum online couldnt log in for a week.

well it seems like a lot of people posting here are on the same internet access but I am experiencing the same problem and I am on the west coast on DSL which is different from others. Doesnt seem like it is an ISP issue.

I sit at the top screen for about 5 minutes after clicking "Later" on the billing notice, then get the bottom screen.

Been having this all day as well. Time warner in buffalo. What makes me not believe the whole 'it's outside of us' is the fact that it seems to be different zones for EVERYONE that they R0 in. For me it's Lower Jeuno, Sauromugue Champaign and who knows what else. Everywhere else I have no lag, it's normal. Why would only certain zones have this problem? It's not like each world's server is fragmented and spread across the world.

Yeah, I did earlier when I was trying to get to Dragon's Aery. Ran dc'd all the way from the Zitah outpost to Boyhada zone.

Was stuck in Promy Mea for 4 hours today, finally just ran around the empty zone while R0'd, came back dead, clicked home point, R0 again... finally was able to log back on my main character in White Gate.

Try running around Monarch Linn for a bit, I'm sure something will eat you eventually [-o<

I dont know WHY it is, but it seems some people have one zone marked as a "dead zone" to them, and its different for each person.

This means that it is possible to escape the dead zone if you have someone else log onto your character and move them out for you...... This doesnt help people who want to BE in the zone thats fucked up for them, but if youre just passing through, its a possible solution.

And yes.. Meri works for me, but it didn't work for another poster...interesting. Though overall I think the problem is getting less severe for me overall, but still search is in the zeroes.
