CS Periqia: Operation: Snake Eyes

This assault uses the same map as seagull grounded.

You first start off at G-12. You head over to the quturb areas and defeat them all to open the gates. For the next part, get everyone to invi up and head to the 6 rooms located at H7-9 and I7-9. In one of the rooms you will see One General Karazahm Fighting with a Lamia. Save him from getting killed and finish off the lamia. Next head to I6. There should be a lamia called lamia 14. There engage it in battle and have everyone go near to it. You'll want the lamia to charm everyone in the party so that the lamia will start wandering around. Pray that it'll open the gate at H6 for you. Next defeat the lamia 14. In the room at H6 you'll find General Umarid. Engage him but don't kill him because he's being charmed by a lamia which will appear when the general's life drop to a certain percentage which I'm not sure what it is. Defeat the Lamia and the assault is done.

??? Ring can be appraised to Pi Ring (Mnd +5 and assault : enhance fast cast effect lvl75) .

Well I'm writing this cause someone in the ??? stats thread as for it. If there's any other ??? items that can be appraised from here. Posting here would be good.

This Assault offers 1333 AP (1999 for first time bonus, 2148 I think with band) and it takes about 22 minutes to do with 3 people: MNK/NIN, WAR/NIN and RDM/WHM. It's an entertaining mission too. :D

Getting charmed by Lamia No.14 appears to be necessary to continue with the mission. She will /say something and drag you through the door. After that, she'll come dangerously close to the charmed prisoner at the end, but will stop short as you uncharm. She will charm again, mind you, but does not move after these subsequent charms. Best to keep the group close together until she dies, and keep DoTs on to avoid regen.

It definitely sounds very doable for our current crop of CS, and we'll give it a shot this Wednesday.

So, as promised, I took the five other Chief Sergeants from the Assault linkshell into Periqia to give this a shot.

Killing the Qutrub at the beginning was fun, as was the Lamia in the cell with the first general, but the BLMs were getting frustrated with the Lamia's magic resistance. Then, we found the charm-happy Lamia and it quickly became "Lamia No. 13 FROM HELL". For no apparent reason, our RDM resisted the first Charm, so instead of taking us through the gate, we wasted time slaughtering our comrade and Charm wore off before we could get through.

Our second attempt was better, but she spammed Belly Dance like there was no tomorrow, and got her down to about 30% before we started spending too much time beating down each other instead of beating her down. She was close to death by the end, but we ran out of time.

We need to farm some Merrow No. 17 necklaces, apparently.
