Yeah, its pretty common to find mages at lower levels who wear gear like that. Especially since so much of it is rare/ex, it screams of "show off" gear.

The fact is as a RDM at that level you could probably do your job naked, so long as you have dispel and cures nobody will care.

At first I thought the AF2 was town gear and that the sword was a Ridill... He wore this full time. If he sold his Juggernaut, he could improve his gear by so much, it'd be bearable. If you're going to be gimp and leech merits off me, at least voke so I don't have to cast ichi as much.

I've partied with a Seriyu's Sword/Joyeuse WAR that outparsed the Maneater/Ridill WAR in the same party. (To be fair the first WAR has sword merits and suppa, the second has no sword merits and bushi). So all it really looks like he's missing is a haub and an acc ring?

Wearing AF2 over AF1 in the feet slot is the only discrepancy I see aside from what Awoir has mentioned. Perhapse a Bomb Core or Bomlet is needed.

The guy had absolutely no haste gear, 15 accuracy from gear (~20 for the Seiryu's Sword; whatever) and couldn't land a full Rampage for the life of him. I doubt he had many merits to begin with and I'm sure this situation is quite different compared to the one you've experienced, Awoir. Sorry I have "high" expectations, but this guy was gimp.

If we only took the worst there'd be like 20 pictures in this server.

That WAR has several good pieces of equipment but apparently lacks the knowledge of what he needs to equip. I don't know what it is about the Juggernaut that draws every WAR to buy it before they even have the money for basic shit like a Hauby. Seriously, your Juggernaut is sexy, but buy the cheaper, crucial shit first.
