Seriously tho, I think they said there'd be a charge in the original notes. I don't like it, but if they do it I hope you can't take more than 100k>1m gil and no sellable items with you, only R/Ex. If someone wants to change servers, they can, but it shouldn't be an easy thing. Probably not, but would be a possible loophole to placing restrictions like that on server transfers. Though its doubtful RMT would bother doing such a thing.

They are going to charge you money to migrate thats a given because of what they said about upgrading the billing system. There is no way they are going to allow people to move around servers for free. Definitely not going to allow you to move around multiple times. Probably 1 time only.

As for gil/economy fluctuations, I think initially some people will move around to get the most out of their items. With FFXIAH.com around they can figure out where they can get the most out of their items since some economies arent as equal as others. But there is no way someone is going to make a mule to move items/gil to each server to profit because they would ahve to pay the RL fee of money to move each time (unless they maybe RMT in which case SE might limit 1 move per an account)

The best solution would be to charge 25$ to do it, and you can only move once a year. For 25$ only serious world changers would do it. And I dont think anyone needs to change servers more than once a year.

The last time they did migration you could only do it once, and once you shifted it was final, you could NOT go back.

I actually don't think that this migration thing is a good idea, it's going to create more problems than it solves. No longer will you be able to cross-reference applicants to your LS, and I'm actually somewhat concerned about what everyone on my server will do, since it's rather apparent that in most things, NA are behind the times on our server.

I think 2 moves total would be best. That way, you can move to the most expensive server, sell your items, then move to the cheapest server and live there.

I think it's quite possible that they would allow you to move an entire account's worth of characters without costing too much extra. Most people have mules, and if they're moving their main, why wouldn't they move their mules. I guess this mostly depends on SE's motives for offering this service: desire to see players happy or cashgrab?

Well, here's a quick run down on Odin's end game. 3-5 major end game shells (ToAu, Sky, Sea & Kings), 3-4 more that camp kings and sky and bajillions of LS's that do sky only. Early windows for nidhogg there is a low of 50 to a high of 115. Tiamat is killed by 5 LS's only. Odin is not run by JP, its equally strong on both sides of the world.

RmT only camp behemoth. They no longer do Sea but there seen in sky quite often. I have no idea if this information will help, but it seems to be the same picture on most servers.

And a time limit doesn't do much either. I mean, if they switch, they switch.

The only thing I would find semi-acceptable would be that all gil and non-ex gear is left behind. Otherwise, I don't see this doing the game any favors.
