I mean I still think sponsorship is the best way to go about it, but sendoh's right.
Except that in the case of a pure sell-split linkshell, "normal people" would have some responsibility in organizing and executing the runs. You'd think that would be easy (and an excellent way to make money)...so how come almost nobody does it? On Asura, the only major sell-split dynamis shell on the server is...wait for it...SML's private melee dynamis that Wafik runs.
We were sell and split for a long ass while and a LS member still planned, ran and organized the runs for us. In fact it was like that for a lot of shells, especially the hybrid ones. Policy and initiative aren't necessarily related, blame asura for being a bunch of lazy fucks o_o
Or, realize that most people don't want to do ANY thinking to get their items and would rather pass up 50k gil a week to make that happen. Sponsorship is what makes that happen.

Then don't put them in a position to be rewarded for lacking initiative, you run a shell, not a charity. That isn't to say you should expect everyone to be some kind of go-getter leader but if people can't make shit happen in lieu of a single person being around, then they uh... deserve to stagnate. Even the most prepared individual does not enjoy dragging people's asses through anything. Like I said, I prefer the sponsorship system because it gets a finished product out sooner, not because "well if they don't have a person to look to then theyre lost anyway". There is absolutely zero way any single person can take credit for a sponsored relic, even if you downright logged into every single character and traded their glasses to the markings yourself.

This derail bores me. Back to Galka reproduction!

Although they reproduce asexually, this does not mean that Galkas themselves are asexual. Galkas, like the other enlightened races evolved from the Zilart after the meltdown, meaning that they would have all the bits and pieces that their forerunners possessed unless they proved to be evolutionarily disadvantageous. Though their reproductive organs may not have been biologically useful, it does not mean that they would vanish unless there was a natural selection pressure against it. (Real life examples: appendix, male nipples, body hair, Ann Coulter.)

Now we know from many quests and missions that Galkas indeed have romantic interests and form partnerships. For example, the Galka by the fishing guild who explains the new fishing method mentions that he has a wife, Galmut in the clock series of quests in Upper Jeuno was in love with an elvaan woman but waited too long to tell her, and Cornelia says that the woman she is named after shared a forbidden love with Raogrimm.

What does all of this tell us? Before the Antican invasion, Zepel Island was the biggest sausage party in the history of Vana'diel. Yup, thousands and thousands of tall, burly, lonely Galkas putting sun tan lotions on each other's backs to protect from the desert sun, frolicking in the oasis, and huddling together in the cold desert nights. I don't know about you, but that sure puts a smile on my face.

    Re-rail to the original de-rail!

I pt'd again as brd/war, parsed 12% without haste vs a mandau thf, black belt monk, and a ridill war! Wasn't fighting colibri, so no piercing bonus.

Ok, back to your 'which is a bigger waste of time, fugly hat or overpriced weapon' debate! (and personally, I think both of them are worth the effort put into getting them)

[Edit] and I just noticed my title is "Melee SMN" I think it should be "Melee BRD" ftw

Are you deliberately being retarded here?

Which is exactly what most of them would do, if we don't give them the opportunity to get free relic armor simply for showing up and following orders.

Lovely straw man you've set up there. Too bad nobody is arguing that a relic is entirely a personal accomplishment.

Then why did only the male zilart evolve into galkas?

And love/marriage is all about sex. Does this imply marriage is all about having personal sex slaves?

Why argue Cap vs Relic when you can have both!

Are you purposely misinterpreting what I'm saying for the sake of furthering an entirely weak point? It's simple, sendoh said there's a difference between setting up a group to benefit the group as a whole, and setting up a group to benefit the individual. There is no argument here, the best you came up with is that "well if not for the sponsor system, no one would do what's necessary to get the run done" which is just plain retarded. There are plenty of cases where split shells successfully do dynamis, some self important view of leadership and the clueless masses does jack shit to change that. The policy does not reflect the capability and initiative of the people involved.

"I'm sorry your shell would stand around thumbing ass if wafik doesn't hold their hand through it." but it doesn't change the circumstances of what a relic sponsorship is regardless of how much effort the individual setting things up puts in.

I think the US Supreme Court said the government has a "vested interest in the ability of married couples to procreate" and its part of the reason why they haven't legalized gay marriage.

In response, some guy (who is a gay-rights supporter) in Washington state was pushing an initiative on the ballot to force married couples to have children within three years of their union or be forced to have their marriage annulled.

So pretty much, the government sees marriage as all about love, sex and procreation.

I saw this all on CNN, but couldn't find a link to an article in their terrible, terrible search query.

Why did the majority of Zilarts who evolved into Mithras female? Altana's will? Writer's convenience? It's just what happened.

Yes. But maybe I am thinking like a gay man.

Cornellia used the phrase "shared a forbidden love", that sounds like more than going to the drug store and sharing a malt while listening to Chubby Checker on the juke box.

Don't confuse motivation with inability. Leaders motivate their shells to do things, not hold their hands through everything, part of motivation comes through leading them to accomplish things, showing them it's not so hard once you do X Y Z, which should in turn inspire them to do their own thing now and then, which they've done often in the past, like starting their own god runs without my consent, just because people are there and the means were available.

Way too derailed, too lazy to split, original thread topic discussed out, make another one if you find concrete evidence to support hidden effects.

    Good day to you.
