All the parses are on GREATER COLIBRI as MNK/WAR. They all had 2 bards. Double Minuet- Double March. I think if anything- the o.hat parse might have been a little higher Crit than it should be- partially because the sample size was too small 100-200 mobs. I'll do another no-cap parse again when i have time; but im going to Seattle this weekend so it'll have to wait till sunday or later!
Btw, didnt print the parse- but last night after the O.Hat PT i made another pt. . MNK/WARx2 PLD/NIN(LS) BRDx2 RDM. Was parsing between 29-30.5% M.Crit it was bouncing around a bit.
And Blackice- I dont do any gearswaps(except Thunder->Flame for WS) and i use a lot of +DEX.
Also- im not sure if this is a factor but after the o.hat PT i maxed out my counter and kick rate- do those hits have the chance of proccing as "Critical Hit" in chatlog? or would they always be normal hits(kicks i think can crit, but counters....? do they just do highet dmg??)?
- I hate having to ask noobish questions ;_;
they can both crit afaik, but the counter crit message is the same as the counter noncrit message.Originally Posted by Ravenlokk
So his crit rate is probably slightly higher than the parse log would show, just due to crits that don't get recorded because they happen in a counter.Originally Posted by divisortheory
Counters can critical. You see the critical animation and hear the noise but it still shows in chat log as a normal counter, just with higher damage.
Now that is sigworthyOriginally Posted by fantasticdan
Pretty crappy sig, since he was clearly talking about level 70 which is entirely possible. When taken out of context, it looks funny sure, but kinda lame. Or maybe its sig worthy because he didn't think of MNK/BLM? I don't know, you could do better for a sig, I would think.Originally Posted by Jooeetheplatypus

Can do any job in 1week to 1.5 weeks easy.. just want to kill urself afterwards for sure up to 66 is a joke but one Caed Mire is ur best choice for decent exp.. life goes to shitOriginally Posted by Boyiee
Thank god maat's cap is only to 66.. taking a month off after DRK ; ; then off to cap
DAY #1)
1->16 can be solod on (almost) any job/whm with drinks, ambrosia(or H pie). or with a PL lol u can go to like 30 while seeking solo.
Outside town zones u can just power through em->ep (usually ep is better xp/hr because no downtime, and like 10-15 second kills). I did this with all my jobs before i picked a main- it was my main source for low lvl cash.
DAY#2
Lvl 12->16 if you have ranged damage, or skilled party worm in shakrami roxor, or u can fight stuff in dunes lolDunes till like 18.
18-21 if youre not fighting worms in qufim/tunnels youre a noob, fact. 21->24 you can solo worms- or if youre brave (see: stupid) you can seek pt.
Day#3
24->26(stop at Lv^27) mandies in yuhtunga
27->30 mandies in yhoat
30-33 mandies/lizards/gobs in yhoat
Day#4
32/33>till someone hits 34 weapons are decent in sauromugue- or you could even keep doing gobs in jungles till someone hits 34- then go straigh to CN or Garlaige- bats/crawlers work till 37 if you can find enough mobs.
(Altepa also a good alt) after workers u can do soldiers in CN, or stuff in altep till like 40.
(Gustav good too- till around 41, maybe a lil higher deeper in)
Day#5
40->46(stop if someone hits 47)
Then probably back out to Altep doing beetles, or Oasis/Yhoat-Ifrit zone gobs
Day#6
47->51 sucks just about everywhere- i like powerchaining weaker shit because anticans can be very random; and deaths/downtime hurts XP a lot.
(Garlaige basement is ok- but not many mobs, rumbles not many mobs kinda random lvls, anticans.. lolanticans)
Day#7
50/51->52 CN Helms
51/52->54/55 Kuftal crabs. (can stop a lil early and start doing murres around 53/54)
Day#8(and 9 if you got shitty pts)
Murres/Lesser Colibri good till 59 (stop at 60 w/out corsair roll and chain 6+ consistently)
60/61 u can do normal colibri till 66.
Day#9+10
65->70 you can powerchain eruca at 70 the xp tanks, but i remember getting 15k/hr there until someone hit 70 with chain 90s.
Day 11, and 12 if you dont have many friends.
70->75 merit PTs
Lvl 75 in less than 2 weeks if you dont have a job, or a social life. Possibly less if you have A PL.
Someone take a picture of this and frame it. This might just be the dumbest thing ever said on BG. lolOriginally Posted by fantasticdan
hey raven, just curious if caitlin is mnk/war in that first parse. I just think it's funny you're beating her by 7+%. People don't know how to DD, heh. I'm also shocked that none of the BG idiots have said anything about sushi yet. Or said something about how you aren't using equip swap macros for weapon skills
Shes good- /NIN ;_;
Max h2h and melee merits(confirmed), and mnk specific stuff (i think).
She was also usinth Faith Tq. and O Kotes. I usually use AF2 for the HP and Subtle-Blow while countertanking (lol@ subtle blow all you want, it saves me money). I really dont like XP'ing on birds with jobs that dont have subtle-blow. . its VERY noticeable in the mobs WS rate.
Refering to top part, was the pt you made after that first O.hat pt also with you wearing O.hat, i.e. you still parsed 29-30% crit rate without Maat's Cap?Originally Posted by Ravenlokk
Kick attacks share the same crit rate as other normal melee attacks, and counters can crit, but as said above you only see a higher damage appear in the logs, nothing about a critical hit happening.
This shouldn't matter though, unless Dvs (which I use as well) counts counters as normal melee attack damage, but it can never count it happening as a critical. Personally, I tend to have counterstance 24/7 in exp pts unless I'm fighting something with a terrible WS ie Fang Rush, Rushing Drub, etc. so maybe if you rarely have counterstance on my counters are killing my crit rate compared to yours, but this seems highly unlikely, considering you showed a parse not done by Dvs with you still having 28-30% crit rate, and to my knowledge Dvs is the only parser that even looks at counters, plus you probably have counterstance up most of the time and I don't even know if Dvs considers counter damage anyways, meh![]()
raven just left for seattle, but I can answer the counter question for you. we both use counterstance 100% of the time.
also, only the first parse there is o-hat, the second two are maats.
N*p(1-p) = variance of a binomial.
N is number of trials.
p is probability of Crit.
Standard Error = sqrt(N*p*(1-p))/N
You never posted the number of hits which is a bit important. Instead you have to estimate weighted hits against your total melee dmg, this came out to be around 1300 hits within the first set. (This might be wrong too, that's why it is imperative that you have the number of hits or at least the number of crits to determine N.)
This gives you a SE = 0.011672. Although that looks pretty convincing I think the surroundings and collection was a bit too variate to obtain any sensible estimates.
If you actually want to find out the truth it is a bit more labourious. A melee PT on the brick wall assault would work if you have a smart parser. I would advise that you keep the same dex and remove any item that may alter your crit rate such as blm dot spells.
Raven mentioned after the party with the O.hat that he parsed and posted, he did another party that he parsed, but I believe that parse hasn't been posted yet. I was inquiring if that unposted parse was with O.hat or Maat's Cap.Originally Posted by chiyio
And lol epigram, just today I was thinking of doing tests on the Lebros walls and using the total number of hits as the sample size instead of number of battles.
Get some blinding potions (lol) and test that MNK hat that gives +crit %. Then test the maat's cap next to it. MIght give a bit more of an accurate account than an optical hat. Also, to the dude who said 24DEX = 3-4% crit+, that's over exxagerated. Kitty pants add about 1% and they are +15.
