Lol.. not only was he quoting the bible the context was kind of lost and it is really inappropriate for modern christanity.

Psalm 35 starts out where he is betrayed by old friends. They made a false accusation against him. Than a bunch of thanks and faith in God in anticipation of his name being cleared and them being exposed for what they did.

He also wants to destroy them for what they did and it might seem kind of strange and totally contradict what a modern Christan is supposed to do but in that time they didn't have belief in an afterlife where justice would be served so justice had to be served on the living.

So ya.. if take2 was friends or partners with JT one day and then planted child porn on his computer and had him arrested for it Psalm 35 might be appropriate.

Assuming he is Christian he should know better also that it isn't our job to bring "holy vengeance" on people anymore because God does that for us when people die.

It is possible Jack Thompson is a jew or muslim or one of the many other religions that also use the old testament and I never really learned much about their stance on this psalm so.. idk. I am going to go out on a limb and say he is probably just another heretic twisting the words of the bible to say what he wants them to say for his own personal gain.

(I'm agnostic by the way, I just went to church(baptist) a lot as a kid and found the bible fascinating and still do.)

EDIT: And for the fun of it.. let me post the last part about the Psalm because it is kind of inspirational for anyone who has been a victim of a false accusation.

14 I went about in grief as for my brother, bent in mourning as for my mother.

15 Yet when I stumbled they gathered with glee, gathered against me like strangers. They slandered me without ceasing;

That's kind of interesting actually. Sony/Microsoft bidding war over exclusive GTA? Exclusive GTA games would mean a dramatic spike in sales for the buyer..

I don't get what the big deal is w/ GTA anymore personally. GTA3 was awesome, Vice City was a nice sequel but San Andreas was just more and more of the same.

Unless GTA4 somehow radically changes the gameplay, its getting kinda boring at this point.

Unless you are hardcore and played those games to 100% completion you don't really appreciate the technical achievements of the GTA games.

The shear size and detail of GTA:SA was nothing to scoff at.

I suppose if you just played them each for 5 min to run around and shoot a few people until you died or went to jail than they are indeed more of the same and there was no reason to buy more of them.

If it is, he'll be replaced by someone else, trying to shut video games down... and that replacement just might be persuasive, competent, and not obviously a nutjob. And then we'll really be in trouble.
I certainly don't like Jack Thompson, but I'm glad someone so ridiculous is at the head of the anti-gaming movement, because it means games are still pretty safe.

People have been trying to shut down rock and roll since the early 1960's. You know why they haven't succeeded?

NEW YORK -(Dow Jones)- A spring housecleaning is apparently about to hit the boardroom of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. (TTWO).

The maker of Grand Theft Auto videogames faces a quiet coup by a consortium of investors that will aim to overthrow the current board at the annual shareholder meeting on Friday, March 23.

The investors, who own 46% of the stock and are being led by mutual-fund company Oppenheimer Funds, have agreed to vote for a separate slate of board candidates, in a bid to oust the current board without the cost of a proxy contest. If they succeed, the new board plans to remove sitting Chief Executive Paul Eibeler.

The move comes amid a stock-options scandal and weak profits at the company as Take-Two struggles to diversify its revenue stream. Investors are frustrated with current management's inability to squeeze out more profit while lessening its dependence on the Grand Theft Auto franchise, the company's lifeblood.

This has nothing to do with Jack Thompson, but if this happens we will never ever hear the end of it from him :/

Apparently the CEO was convicted of backdating stock options and he is going to resign.

It isn't THAT big of a deal because while rockstar is owned by take-two it shouldn't change or hurt the GTA franchise. Either way.. if it happens Jack is going to gloat about how it was all his creation.

Kind of how when you were a kid and something bad happens to someone you hate and you try to take credit for it like some God.
