Griefing a Besieged (or, intercepting forces)

OK so when Besieged first came out, people would kill off all the mobs marching in Wajaom or Bhaflau. This majorly pissed off the 700+ people waiting at the gates and resulted in no EXP and no credit for defending Al Zahbi.

I may be out of the loop here, but why did people stop intercepting forces even after the change so that credit would be given for stopping the beastmen? Are they too tough? EXP loss for dying? No EXP for winning?

Probably thinking they'd link the entire army.

I don't remember there being a "reward" for killing them outside the city really used to piss people off.

Because now , they look at you for 1 second, then keep running. Also before they didn't actually run, now they are all walking at mazurka speed.

If the music changed and/or there was a cutscene, people would probably do it. I go outside to follow them and record stuff even if it means there is a good chance I will not be able to get in Al Al Zahbi, if that counts.

EDIT: They don't run in Mazurka speed until 1 mob gets into the city. Before that they move at a normal speed, even stopping a LOT.

    Poor design I'd say.

If SE wanted intercepting to be apart of Besieged, they should of made it a part of it. They should off called it "Scouting" or something, and you sign up for it, you get the same buffs/meds like Besieged, no exp loss, and get paired with +50% Movement Speed and maybe a constant auto-Reraise. When they reach the city, you get bonus exp and then warped to the Bastion, then Besieged starts.

Though it would get kind of lame if they made it so most besiegeds never made it to the city... then again, I don't see that happening for anything above Level 4 lol.

some mobs still move slow for some reason, or will advance a bit then stop. But yes, eventually the mobs will just move on, you can't pull them to the side or whatever. chasing after mobs just gets old after a while, even if you actually have mazurka to run after them.

This would be pretty cool. What would be even better is if there were NMs that only appeared during the advancing stage that, if you managed to kill them during this period, would reduce or eliminate the dmg resist the mobs have during the normal event. Then you'd have a double win-extra xp and straight-up owning of mobs with all the besieged temp items.

    Edit: can't spell.

What was said--they'll look at you for a split second, then keep moving. I've done voke -> warcry -> Blade: Jin on one and still not held its attention.

If they did add something like that, they would have to make the Undead Horde weaker and the Troll Mercenaries stronger... because of how long they take to get to Al Zahbi.

lol, it just occurred to me. The Undead Horde is suppose to be the weakest threat and the Troll Mercenaries is suppose to be the strongest threat...

    so much for lore, lawl.

Until the addition of level 7, the Trolls were the hardest shit ever due to clusters basically raping anything hording it every explosion, and bombs using the heat wave and eventually just raping everyone with burn.

Even now, I still hate trolls, but those robots from undead besieged is amazingly fucking retarded, and Lamia. 4's doomtouch is pretty horrible too.

As for mamool jas, ground burst is a bitch, and benediction also sucks when shit like this happens
    happenshttp://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y66...s/img_0023.png

Ill wind dispels giant drink and wyvern just sucks, but amazingly enough they're the least troublesome of the 3 horde.

Still though, it kinda suck that the AC is getting harder to protect, yet the effect of the sanction isn't boosted and the system to increase capital defense kinda suck...

I love how SE keeps saying how they wanna make people less reliant on /nin, then they release these new mobs, for example the new trolls who have an AOE physical move, does 400-800 dmg, unless you're using utsu, which means it takes off like 2 shadows, or lamias that hit you with en-doom, which you will get unless you use utsusemi.

/sam if you're using a 2-handed weapon with an ability that gives a random amount of blinks (1-5) that will never last until the next use of said ability and does NOT absorb any type of AoE moves.

    So... No, there's isn't an alternative. >D

In Besieged I like /WHM if I go as DRK. I can keep reraise on myself, get mega points for raising if I come in late, and keep my LS party alive with cures (we almost never have anyone come as WHM). I have a deep enough MP pool that I can deal with removing my own status issues as well as helping out LS folks with theirs.
