March 20th is Stephen Colbert Day!
Let us all blatently exagerate and express our true feeligns towards america and bears together!
Think they'll ever migrate the Colbert Report to show before the Daily Show?
blasphemey! daily show is > colbert report. the report is funny but no where as innovative in its humor as the daily show. parodies of parodies (the report) are limited on content, but parodies (daily show) have more breathing roomOriginally Posted by Mysterio
The only real funny parts of the Daily Show are the skits I find. I prefer Colbert Report since I find Colbert, as a person, is more funny.
I agree to some extent.Originally Posted by Xiona
But the Colbert Report started as a skit, then a fulltime segment of Daily Show, now to its own Show.
Next step is replacing the primetime slot of the Daily show maybe?
More Blasphemy! lol
I remember when Jon Stewart had a comedy show.. D:
i personally find the daily shows humor a lil more "mature", more thought out, and on the lighter side. where as the report is straight easy to understand humor, more on the making fun of people directly side. like "hey youre stupid and ugly", still a really funny show though.
I think that a lot of people still do not fully understand and appreciate the subtle undertones of humor and subversiveness that is the Colbert Report.
But I could never compare the Daily Show with the Colbert Report, to me they are an extension of each other, the sum of which is much greater than its parts.
P.S. Bears truly are a menace. We have to fight them in the forests so we don't have to fight them in the cities.
yeah it does have its subtle humor, but i dont like it as much as the daily shows. im kinda torn between which show i like more. its a mood thing. when i just wanna laugh i watch colbert, if i wanna think a bit more i watch daily show >.>Originally Posted by Septimus
The real question is, why does it matter, because odds are you're going to watch both show and laugh at them both because everything else sucks!Originally Posted by Xfaustx
you have a good point. once you have started the daily show there is no stopping... unless you go to Cartoon Network for Family Guy which is on at the same time as the Report. in which case i flip between the 2 shows.Originally Posted by Jeryhn
I could be wrong but I *think* the article was actually a really good satire of... some crazy people lol.Originally Posted by dilbert
The funny thing is people like Dan Rather giving those shows a lot of praise for what they're doing to news, by being unflinchingly honest in their humor.
Not funny though, more like awesome.
As a side note, saw Half-Baked the other day, forgot about Jon Stewarts cameo. You ever see a $20 dollar bill, man?
Truthiness needs to be spoken on 3/20 of every year from now on
Does anyone know if he actually showed up to the celebration in Oshawa?
I like both shows, but is it me or have they increased the number of commercials during the daily show? I remember watching it when I was younger, and now it seems much shorter in content.
