The one for PS2.
Was wondering if its any good.
I'm an oldschool fan of Saga Frontier 1, and the old R-Sagas.
Just wondering if they provided another epic fuck-up, as seen with Unlimited-Saga.

I'm scared to touch any SaGA game after unlimited...
SE learns from its' mistakes, periodically....
There are, however, games so bad that they potentially ruin a massive franchise..... YHALOTHAR BoFV
The SaGa games have never really been popular though, its a cult fav.
I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with Unlimited Sagas board game shit, though. It was like fucking candyland, but I didn't get to kill no godamn Molasses Man, thus providing 0 fun.
I've played Saga Frontier, was a pretty enjoyable game, i dont think many people played it though.
I've completely played through Saga Frontier 1 god knows how many times, 10+....
It was Squaresofts best attempt to be original, ever.
God it was hard, too.
Probably my favorite character advancement system ever, too.
Lightbulb > Equivalent of a LV1 char getting Omnislash randomly as shit > ???> Profit
Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll (yeah, that's a fuckton of l's d('-'*) ), if you like the Saga Frontier games, I would recommend that you get a SNES emulator and download the original Romancing Saga games (the 3rd one even has a full translation ;3). They're quite good, whereas the PS2 ones are rather stinky.

A shame, cause I liked Saga Frontier and the second one was decent too. I still can't stand that a cutscene teaser for FF X-2 was the 'best' feature of the game.....I was robbed of so many things that day - 40$, my faith in humanity, 40 minutes of my life, and replaced with the imprint of Unlimited Saga in my memory that shall never go away - like an undying pile of flaming dog shit.
Just saw your mention of BoF V - while that was awful as well, at least I knew ahead of time that it looked terrible and I skipped it. When I bought Unlimted Saga I was unaware of the depths of hell that the creators must have mined to find such an unholy pile of infinite horror that I'm unsure that I would even pick up sequels from a bargain bin.
Well, the GameStop near me has Romancing SaGa for 7.00$ el oh el
Couldn't hurt to try it.
Also, I have every SNES RPG on Rom already, beat the hell out of Romancing Saga 3.
Fastforward makes Lightbulbing Techs so amazing and win.
Give me 15 minutes and I'll have a new char with 3 weapons having 20+ techs.
I played through romancing saga but I haven't played any others (I played unlimited for a day then returned it)
it was ... I dunno, entertaining I guess?
there's like 15+ (at least) ways you can play through the game, I played through once and just retired it.
The PS2 remake of RS is much more polished than any of its recent predecessars. You would probably have a lot of fun wth it, especially with 6-7 different storylines and more fluid, less impossible-to-beat battles. I recommend it :D
Why are you unbanned.
(On topic)
I liked what they did with Romancing SaGa's remake... cept the english VA. That could've been better.
Alot of english VA is horrible >_> (cue that stupid laughing scene from FFX)
Off topic - Am I the only person that actually LIKED BoFV? <_<;
SaGa Frontier 1 was the only one I liked...
Alkaiser FTFW!!!
I played Romancing SaGa remake, I barfed. I only wish I could find SaGa Frontier again, or a .iso of it or something(assuming one day I actually stop being lazy and look for one)
You're an idiot lolOriginally Posted by Akanei

I liked BoF V a lot too but yeah, the time limit, the limited save system, and the weapon/skill system were deterring. However, it boasts a great visual style, interesting characters (and fresh takes on the whole Ryu/Nina angle), a world that becomes increasingly beautiful as you head upwards, and several epic battles.
I remember renting BoFV the day it came out and absolutely hated it. Then I stop by my local EB Games a year or so later and see it for 5 bucks so I buy it. I ended up loving it this time around lol. I ended up making it to the last boss with like 97-98%Originally Posted by Rysa

I loved the first Saga Frontier, but played it to freaking death. It's one of those games that every once in a while I think, "Hey! I haven't played this in a while, now I really want to play it again...no wait...no...no I don't."
The PS2 Romancing Saga was decent, but I bought it at the same time I bought Radiata Stories; played through one character then started playing Radiata Stories and never got back to Romancing Saga.
