0/25 screw on this spell >.<
1/1 Self Destruct pre-af lol
Some of the spells sucked but seriously; you can think of like what, 5-6 spells out of 100 that took a long time to learn?
Blitztrahl
Bad Breath
Frypan
Self-Destruct
Infrsonics
Those are the only ones I can think of that took me hours to get. Maybe I was just lucky.. Alot of them I leveled on the mobs to get tho.
So taking a couple hours on 10% or less of your spells doesn't seem so bad to me.
Wow, all this talk about spending countless hours learning one spell have really motivated me to level Blue Mage!
Well absolutely necessary spells?
Let me see here..
Sandspin
Pollen
Foot Kick
(If for nothing else than being able to cap your blue magic skill)
Cocoon
Head Butt
Feather Storm (eh I guess you could skip)
Healing Breeze
Sheep Song
Bludgeon
Soporific (could skip, but more sleepga is nice)
Wild Carrot
Blank Gaze (dispel is nice)
Jet Stream
MP Drainkiss
Stinking Gas (Auto Refresh)
Mandibular Bite (eh, can skip)
Geist Wall (dispel is nice)
Refueling (nice but skippable)
Self-Destruct (Auto Refresh)
Frightful Roar (Auto Refresh)
Cold Wave (Auto Refresh)
Magic Fruit
Light of Penance (Auto Refresh)
Death Scissors
Dimensional Death (Accuracy Bonus)
Voracious Trunk (Auto Refresh skippable)
Diamondhide (I think it's useful)
Warm-Up (I think it's useful)
Cannonball (Self-Light)
Disservement
Actinic Burst (Auto Refresh)
Magic Hammer
Exuviation (I think it's useful)
Plasma Charge (Auto Refresh)
Vertical Cleave (fairly decent)
That's the bare bones, I think >_>
Edit: Oh I forgot Sickle Slash.
Pre-AF tho so less fear...
Ones that took my longer were faster for others and ones that took longer for others was faster for me
You get nice xp out of it too anyway. Nice sense of accomplishment than just buying a scroll and using it in front of an AH
sometimes I go also duo on tougher enemys to learn spells (then of the too weak or easy prey ones). Its also a nice way to encounter new fresh peopleOriginally Posted by KokoroNoKawari
wild oats is amazingly good at low levels to lower monster vit. makes killing significantly faster.Originally Posted by Rocl
filament hold not bad as a slow debuff.
would also recommend getting spells that give at least clear mind +2 option
Question: For the Mamool Ja/Troll/Lamian spells, each one correlates to one of the subdivisions, right? So:
Warm-Up: Mamool Ja fighters
Firespit: Mamool Ja mages
Enervation: Troll cannoneers
Diamondhide: Troll hoplites
Hysteric Barrage: Lamiae
Tail Slap: Merrows
Right? But what about Mamool Ja blue mages? Do they teach Warm-Up or Firespit? They are grouped with WHMs/BLMs in the Zhayolm Remnants and I heard they drop blue bells when they have the AC, so it gets confusing.
Mamool Blue mages count towards Warm-up iirc.
Thanks. I guess SE sometimes groups them together to add some more balance between the fighters:mages.
Quick question why do blue mages use homam head instead of walahara?(sp)
Is the magic acc really that noticeable? If so why not just use it to sub for spell casting
The same reason any other job would wear it I guess, because it's the only piece of homam their ls would give them, or they think it's a coveted rare piece of gear or something and want to show it off.Originally Posted by LinktheDeme
Really thou, with w. turban + o. hat I don't see any reason to ever use homam head. You wouldn't be equipping it for the magic acc. on spells like, mind blast, fire spit, magic hammer etc, using mnd/int gear instead. Only spells I could imagine using it for are debuffs like frightful roar, infrasonics, enervation, etc, but those spells have very high accuracy, even without staffs or int/mnd gear, so I don't think it's really needed.
If I had one, the only situation I can imagine myself using it is in uncapped ballista, which I don't do anyway.
