You people play too much Rainbow6.Is it any better than the 360 version or identical?
I haven't played the 360 version, but I think it's identical other than a few extra multiplayer maps. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
I didnt get home in time to join the AC4 action, sorry Sadler, Kazen.
And Rainbow six for PS3 is not as good as 360 version, almost but not quite.
The multiplayer is hampered by the playstation network and lack of game servers, which the 360 version has.
One PS3 hosts the entire match in the PS3 version, so its huge strain on that unit, while it can handle it, it's not as good as the straight up servers that Ms uses. I hope Sony starts charging for online so that our gaming quality can improve.
Graphical details are missing in the PS3 version which were present in the 360 version.
But I still highly recommend Rainbow Six vegas for PS3, especially if you don't have a 360. Cause it's still a great game. Rainbow six for the 360 is averaging a 90% review across the board on all media outlets, while the PS3 version is tallying in around 85%, so still an awesome game.
So in conclusion, the single player experience is carried over perfectly from the 360 version, same deal for both(looks sharp). But the multiplayer experience is indeed superior on the 360, due to Live having it's own servers and a generally better user interface/lobby system.
I thought the single player sucked... the first mission in Mexico completely turned me off, especially when buying a game titled "Vegas" (yes i know it comes after, but still..)
I guess i'll try it on the 360 again, because I keep hearing good things about the multiplayer... but doubt I need to get the PS3 version too if it's identical (or even better in favor of the 360.)
if you have both systems definetly get the 360 version.
The cover system in Rainbow 6 tops Gears' cover version. My migrating the cover option to "holding" down a button as opposed to toggling it on/off like in Gears. This prevents people from getting locked in the cover position if they get surprised which occurs in Gears' multiplayer. In Rainbow six you simply release the trigger button, and voila you're fine.
The multiplayer is awesome, and clearly better on the 360 due to XBOX Live like I mentioned. This game is also a blast playing Co-op whether you're doing the mission based story mode or a terrorist hunt on whatever map. I can't get enough of this game atm, haha. Ranked as high as #13 out of 45,000 players so far, currently #25 /angry
What do you do in multi? just play with other people and hunt down terrorists or pvp?

It would be ridiculous for me to go over them all, there is close to 20 modes.
the co-op story, and co-op terrorist hunt modes are only a max of 4 players. But the remaining modes can have up to 14 per game. They have a similar bomb defusion mode like in counterstrike, they have VIP extraction modes, hostage things, pseudo capture the flag(its a breifcase I think) the list goes on..
ps network will always be free, and i cant believe you want it to cost money, they'd lose what support they have going for their system.
pay online = no thanks

Motorstorm did it good by hosting the games on their servers without any lag. I wish Ubi had done the same. But then again Ubisoft isn't owned by Sony or Microsoft, so they don't have all their eggs in one basket I guess..

The servers are fine for Rainbow 6. If you join a game that has just loaded a new map or started, the first few rounds have lag. After the first few, the lag is gone. Most likely they'll work on some type of update for the game.Originally Posted by Mysterio

I know that the 360 version is better, but I'm happy as it is with this now. Free online obviously won't be at par to a pay to play service.Originally Posted by Mysterio
