I can't connect my wireless for some reason.. connection test keeps failing when I try.

Yea that happens to me some times, one of the main problems with the PS3 is its wireless capabilities. Especially when my Wii60 connect fine.

I've had zero problems with my PS3 wireless. The only time I have to mess with my connection settings is if I've got DNS set up or not, Otherwise it works absolutely fine.

I really don't know what's up. When I first got the PS3 I connected it wirelessly but the connection was pretty damn slow (3000kbps when my connection does 10000) so I hardwired it, but now I can't seem to connect it at all.

My Wii works absolutely fine, and I never bothered with the 360's because 100 bucks for a stupid network card is too expensive for my tastes.

Did you change the network settings to Wired instead of Wireless?

Yes.. also put all the wireless info in, and it still won't accept it.

I let it do everything automatically because I don't know how to set up a manual IP and stuff like that... maybe that's the problem.

I have a Linksys router and mine works fine with the wireless.

some models have a certain issue, mine had it, and it wouldnt connect and would disconnect all my other things that were connected whenever it tried. what i had to do was go into the router and ps3 and disable something, uPnP i think it was, cant completely remember but it fixed the problem completely.

Whenever my PS3 is connected through the router, even wired, it sitll disconnects everything else for a few seconds while it connects.

Can you check what you disabled? ;x

just checked, it is UPnP, disable that on both the system and the router and you shouldnt have a problem. you have to do a manual setup thing on the ps3 to get to disable, otherwise it'll try and autoenable it.

also, this disables filesharing with pc-ps3, which i didnt really care about, but it may be an issue for some. also, they are aware of it, maybe fix it sometime who knows :l

All UPnP is is Universal Plug and Play in case you hadn't already looked it up. My router supposedly supports it but it never works when I enable it on the PS3. About disabling file sharing through the PC and PS3 when you disable UPnP, are you talking about the Media Server deal?

yea, when you disable it it turns off the mediaserver stuff for pics/vids/etc

Mine is disabled but my Media Server feature stills seems to be functioning.
