ah well, i dont have the links under it like it did when i first set it up saying about media center, so figured it wasnt enabled anymore, not that i care. if i really want to move any media to the ps3 can always just memory stick it anyways.

What do those "Search for media servers" choices do when you go into the Photo, Music or Video sections? I never clicked on them. Do they search the internet for files to download, or what exactly do they do?

They search your network for related media and you can then stream said media from your computer to your PS3.

Ok first go download a program called Tversity (free), also ffdshow (link will be on Tversity site)

Set it up, either yourself or read the faq

Once installed, add files/folders (directory style, eg. C:Folder/Folder/Folder)

Now let the ps3 search for media servers, and Tversity should pop up

The main reason to have this program is it will on the fly convert .avi to .mpeg format, it will stream it from your pc to the ps3

I just dl torrented movies, new/old and just stream them to my ps3, you do lose a little bit of the picture quality, but its still worth it to me, laying down on the couch and watching on my 61" HDTV

Only drawback for Tversity is no rewind/fast fowarding, you can stop and the video will start where you left off, but if you leave the sub-folder category you will start from the beginin, can fast foward a little x1.5 (not that good)

You can also view/listen to your photos/music from the pc to the ps3 and dl onto your ps3 HDD

Can also add url sites that ps3 doesnt pickup, like sirius radio streamed on the internet, gotta have a sirius account though

PS3 is a versitle machine, its my media center

Im posting from the ps3 atm, I cant believe the many options given by Sony to use for the ps3

I just move shit to the PS3 through my PSP, so it's not a big deal for me even if it doesn't work. At least the fucking router doesn't dc everything else every time I get to the home screen of the PS3 (and finally works wirelessly ...)

Pretty much what Graverobber said. This is the thread that helped me set up TVersity. I tried Nero MediaHome and TVersity was a lot better.

I swear this console has the worst messaging system EVER... unless you see the message right when its sent (as in, actually looking at the screen), there's no way for you to know you have messages waiting for you until you actually physically go down the list of people and see the 1 next to their names and/or go to the mailbox and check.

I just finished the guy's side of the demo.. man it's pretty good. Yeah it's like pokemon, but the way they do the bosses are fun... you have to find which attack works on them. It uses the tilt in sixaxis quite a bit and it's pretty cool even though it's only when you suck the 'id' out of the 'folk' (monster's soul pretty much).

The colors are very sweet.

Most likely it will get released tomorrow on the US store, but hell got it one day early with no problem on the UK store .

Still crossing my fingers they are able to change the control scheme on LAIR before they release it, lol

I believe that game would be getting 8's and 9's if it had analog control.

Fucking piece of shit bluetooth sixaxis, just lost like 2 hours off .hack G.U. because it just spazzed out and was blinking like crazy and refused to respond to anything.

Yeah I did, still didn't respond.

I did some googling and apparently it happened to other people with first gen PS3 controllers.. stupid piece of crap, I would buy a new controller if they weren't working on that rumbling sixaxis..

EDIT: once you reboot the PS3 it's fine again.. but you still lose your progress, which is fucking annoying.
