I never wanna /war tank byakko again >_> fuck that, everything else in sky is a joke then here comes rapecat. Might have to do with the fact that I never really put much into my /WAR set though, I have most of the gear for it at this point and just dont bother.

Isn't your shield not even capped, or did you finally get around to doing that?

We did 7 Byakkos last Friday night and I didn't die once, it's really a joke now with the shield update and stuff. Just use Phalanx II or Noctoshield. I hit proc cap on him easily so he normally hits for 20-40 damage, whenever my shield goes off.

5 Mandies and an hour later. I got killed once because beckwin IM'ed me while I was supposed to zone like I said, it's probably moreso because I sort of don't even want to use /WAR in the first place rather than my thinking it totally sucks.

Yeah no shit, we were walking down despot alley today and we see the Gilsellers and SD just staring at 1 despot alcove. Thing pops and 2 seconds later it's red to us >_> full god pop set in 90 minutes.

The most important thing about /nin is that ninja subjob does not take away your ability to equip a shield.

Forget Mandies, Dynamis-Beaucedine/Sandoria is the real place for skill ups.

If your shell just does sky/limbus/dynamis/sea, there's really no reason to bother building a PLD/NIN set except for Proto-Omega and Proto-Ultima (actually, you can PLD/WAR these easily too, but /NIN makes things go a little more smoothly since they all have a couple high damage WSes).

I wouldn't say so much that it's a thing that I want to make easier, it's just /war is so boring nowadays, they made PLD kinda easy with a lot of the updates, I really loved it pre-shield update (both actually, the block % versus all and the interupt rate =0% with block), made things a bit more interesting.

I suppose the problem's not so much in my gear, been watching my events lately, it seems that we mostly zerg shit too much >_> our DDs kinda don't hold back so much, and our WHMs are all over the curebombs, suppose this is why we haven't tried any GHNMs yet (well, 0/1 jormy and like 0/8 on cerberus after the patch) so meh, thanks for the help to all the posters though think I have a lot better idea of what to work on first =3

At least half of your effectiveness is down to other peoples' contributions. Having a great tank party will make you a great tank. Sounds like bullshit, but the difference between a white mage who knows when to cure and one who hits the macro the second you drop below 100% is quite spectacular. Then you expand this logic to the rest of the alliance, and get rid of the black mages who hit Thunder IV the second you engage. At the risk of sounding like a hippy, it's a team effort.

Oh, and another thing that I forgot to add to my post earlier is that you should look into getting a Templar Mace. As for your main weapon slot, the two best pieces to use are Macuahuitl +1 and Templar Mace. But to be honest, I like the mace a lot better now that I've used it more. It brings my Cure IIIs up to 215 HP per and my Cure IVs to like 437, so it's very nice.

I'll second this. I've been using the Templar Mace more and more over the last month. I find in Dynamis if I'm just holding stones/mobs the extra hate from cures makes a noticable difference. Same goes for or mobs that you are not engaged to or kited mobs that castllong spells that give you time to stop and cast on yourself or co-tank.
