I'm having a problem using 2 computers at the same time for 2boxing, I have 2 accounts, one of which was given to me by a friend that quit the game. I have FFXI installed on both my laptop and my PC, and can log into the game fine on either machine with either account, the problem comes when I want to log onto the second character on the other machine, it just won't log in.
I can have both characters logged in on the same machine using windower, but this gets quite laggy during events and pretty much limits me to just one character.
I was wondering if it is because I've only purchased one copy of the game, does SE some how monitor which copy of the game is logging in? At first I thought it was a network setting on my end, but I can't find anything in my network that would limit the ports being used to only one machine (first come first serve kinda thing).

I've gotten varying responses from ppl in my ls about this, some say I need to buy another copy of the game to be able to play on both comps, some say that they play on more then one machine with only having bought 1 copy of the game.
Any help?

i have one copy of the game i installed on 3 comps and 2box regularly. definitely dont need to purchase another copy.

If your machine is not very powerful/lots of RAM, you might want to turn off sound in one the windows, and lower the graphical effects.

Have you tried pressing Enter to log in simultaneously?

if you mean hitting enter on both machines at the same time to get both accounts logged in, yea, but only one will be able to log in, whichever one was that microsecond first.

I'm not sure what the problem is anymore, guess I'll have to go thru network/router settings again, see if there is something in there =\

"2boxing" on the same computer doesn't work for my anymore. The second account gets to the point where FF is supposed to load fullscreen and cuts right back to PoL. Anyone else have this issue?

For this you need to adjust the resolution with windower, mine can't exceed 2 instances of 800x600.

For 2box I have a laptop and a desktop and it works well. You don't need a separate key for the other account, because registration key is tied to account and not program. I just have 1 copy, as I also have a friend's account who left the game.

You definately don't need to buy another copy of the game. Honestly I don't really have any idea why you're having that problem.. I use a desktop and a laptop for 2 boxing and have even 3 boxed before with 2 accounts on my desktop and one on my laptop. There's no reason I can see why that should be happening. As you already mentioned.. it could be something with your network/router settings because it's certainly not anything inherant to either the game or windower that should be stopping you.
