dex/crit relation, WS crits, WS gorgets discussion

ftp only applies for the first hit of rampage: all latter hits are at 1.0 ftp unless SE ninja fixed it recently (not a warrior so I'm not paying super close attention.)

and gorgets still rock for single hit (and to an extent, 2 hit) weaponskills, several of which *are* the best ws for their job.

Faith beat Gorget for Asur fists? Was the acc stacked elsewhere so high to overcome the gorget acc bonus, or is it more gimped than we thought >.>

I'd be curious if this holds up to Blade Jin, Guillotine, Rampage, etc...

Nagamaki did some testing that somewhat stuggested that gorget accuracy only effected the first hit of a WS. If that's the case, then the accuracy wouldn't be hard to overcome at all. There is some other factors to think around the first hit of multihit ws. But for now, I'm probably going to switch to Peacock Charm instead of soil gorget for rampage (no torque) and see how that works.

I fixed that for you. Margin of error for the test was still quite high IIRC due to low sample size.

These charts about target stat formulas are great (I think Nagamaki posted the Gobli translation stuff initially; Thanks).

Has anyone compiled a table / chart of known mob stats? I know Sidra had mentioned it about a month ago, but I didn't see anything after that. If not, that seems like something we should do. I'd be happy to put one together in Excel or by throwing together some kind of .NET based simulator.

Also, regarding forum "etiquette" / preventing my ass from being banned, do people post links to 3rd party programs that don't interface with the game on this site? I've got some stat simulation stuff that could be relevant to this discussion...

Not to my knowledge, it's just weaker than Rampage for obvious reasons but seems like crit'ting just as much and even benefitting slightly more than the Axe WS from the effects of a DEX heavy build (which shouldn't replace STR everywhere and at any cost...but rather back it up, don't misinterpret my words, a somewhat balanced out set-up, chosen accordingly to the nature of the mobs you're facing is still essential, don't go overboard with DEX because it'd be useless after a point), probably due to the fact that generally any Sword/Sword set-up likely has less Atk at its disposal than the closest Axe/Ridill or Axe/Axe counterpart.

I'm Ninja 75 too but I haven't used the job enough to be a reliable source of informations about :Jin so idk.

EDIT: VZX, if you're trying to test Vorpal on your BLU and need some help to gather data and make a comparison with Warrior's Vorpal I'd gladly help, just let me know, keep in mind that my BLU is level 5 tho lol.

If you are talking about blu, it's almost certainly due to the fact that these jobs have nowhere near the amount of dex available to war, nin, thf, etc. from haidate, osode, hecatatomb, haubys, etc.

For example, body, legs, hands. Blu doesn't really have any dex available in these slots, while an adaberk warrior with hecatomb hands and haidate during WS has +29 dex just from those three gears, that's a massive difference.

I used Perdu Hanger and Demon Slayer for my swords. 59+31 STR and 70+37 DEX are the stats I have for Vorpal w/o food.
Few days ago I only got highest 700 Vorpal on Sea Puk(only once) on Mamool Ja Stagging Point (mostly pop between 500-600 on good vorpal, that is full hit and 1~2 crits). That was with Minuet and Dia II + sushi. Compared to NIN's Jin which often pops 700 and 900 high on Mamools, It seems vorpal coming from me is pretty weak. I know I can pop 1.1k+ on too weak with these weapons and my normal WS setup on too weak

Are you /nin or /thf? Just a crude comparison, but my blu/nin usually gets the same 400-500 on the mamools and puks there. Maxing out about 900(one time close to 1000) on puks and about 700-800 on mamools that arent evasion heavy(assuming those are full crits). Now thats with double double minuets and attack food, statwise I don't know off hand, using Senior Gold Musketeer's Scimitar/Ifirit's Blade for weapons.

I don't know what you got for merits, but i have capped crit rate and capped sword.
