    From the POL site concerning the 3-7 Update

    The strength of certain monsters in the Grand Palace of Hu'Xzoi and the Garden of Ru'Hmet has been adjusted.
    We have 3 drops that need confirming and 3 NM Aerns that have had their strength "adjusted"

    Maybe the Ix's now have a rare chance at dropping these last few unconfirmed items.

    Speculation:

    Wouldn't it be in keeping with their style to put it in the Crab BCNM? While it seems unlikely for it to be put in a lvl 20 fight, it is possible since that is one of the harder ones. Also, this would have the side effect of making mannequins much easier to come by. Feel free to taunt me if someone has tried that one already.

    Problem with this is that everything that they have added into BCNM was added to BCNMs that's of the level, or within 10 levels of the item

    PCC-40
    KC-60
    CC/E-bow-60
    Archer-40
    Emp-30

    Oh...shit...I totally forgot that Leaping is 30...

    So far it's only the exception, but it might just be possible that heavy metal crabs has it.

    That was what I was thinking.

    Yagudo BCNM drops the Fuma and Kote.
    Shadow BCNM drops the E Bow and CCs.

    I was just talking to my LS about how it would make sense for a Crab to drop Speed Belt.

    Some other people thinking that Copy Cat would drop it because doesn't Haste shit already drop from there?

    bcnm's have a pretty strict rule of dropping items in accordance to the level of the BC.
    i.e. bc20 drops level 20ish gear bc30 drops 30ish etc etc. i really really doubt you'd find it in anything less than a bc50.

    Just did 6 runs of E-vase-ive Action. Nothing resembling a good drop or a speed belt. However, we did manage to get our time down to 1m35s. We went there from the suggestion on the wiki that speed belt would drop, but nothing dropped for us.

    While that is generally the case, Strider Boots are level 20 and they drop from a KS99 now. Maybe SE is bucking the trend?

    EDIT: I see you were referring to Beastmen's seal orbs so your theory may still hold true. I was confused by you callling them BCNM's since technically, a BCNM is any Burning Circle fight and I tend to call all fights BCNM, be it Beastmen's or Kindred's seal orb.

    Um Strider Boots are different. They originally dropped from a level 60(or 65?) mob. I think the level 20 thing is meant to be apart of their appeal.

    Seriously, if level mattered on the item, wouldnt Cassie Earring be the item to come from a BC20? Think about them apples >_>;

    Level of an item has nothing to do with BC. Just that the item that drops revolves around level of NM (in BCNM), HNM usually put into KSNM. Not sure how SE figured out to put strider boots in turtle BC and healing staff in Behemoth, but then again, half the things SE usually does is weird. Thief Knife anyone?

    I think everyone is missing a big picture that SE is trying to paint for us regarding Thief Knife. Weve always asked what TH was worth. SE has always declined to respond. This is their response, it is Nothing.

    nothing screams "needs changing" like a knife that drops 2 times in a month and sells for 30-50M <.<

    except i dont need some idiot doing tests since that will not always be the same result for each person.
    luck factor is the number one factor for drops.
    And I am under the impression thf knife does not work like alot of ppl think it would be.
    2 is not far from 1 if you know what i mean, unless you are talking moons.

    Depends on what you're trying to get to drop.

    If something has a 1% drop rate as is, another +1% (since %s are additive in FFXI) means doubling the drop rate. If something already has a 20% drop rate, making it 21% probably isn't going to be noticible.

    Yup, plus it also could be responsible for double-triple drops, like when you get double abj. drops. ever seen a dhalmel drop 3 hides?
    i personally think it works like as if you had 1 extra shot for a "roll" and your parties best "roll" determines drops you get
