Just out of curiosity, what is the toughest thing any RDM has ever melee soloed, where they actually got up in its face? Sleeping, nuking, DoT is ok, so long as the primary source of damage was from melee/enspells.

No he bind and kites, reason why he went /blu instead of /nin is because with CHary he WILL get close to you, so shadows woulda been kinda pointless. /blu just made it easier.

I think both sides of the argument are correct when looking at soloing. In FFXI, alot of things are monotonous when it comes to soloing or just maximizing your job's potential. There isn't alot of creativity when it comes to doing things differently from the rest. Best options/solutions are usually taken to secure teh win, so in that regards (skill) it isn't impressive. But I do agree with the patience that is involved in soloing crazy stuff. Doing something in 5 mins then replicating for hours is a feat due to the chance of randomness of getting pwned when it comes to HNM.

The margin of error is also very small. This can be compared to the Guinness World Book of Records of things being done to a hardcore extent. It's mainly endurance and concentration after you're able to do it after a certain set amount of time. The actual fight doesn't look interesting to watch because of the repititious nature of RDM, it woulda been more interesting straight up meleeing it rather than kite and DoT. Just my 2cents

I don't see any of you soloing seiryu now do I? All of the "its not that hard" penis stroking in here is disgusting. The guy does something that more than likely nobody else has done and everyone must post how easy it was as a means to discredit his kill. If you want to turn this in to an argument about what skill really is, by all means do so, but I won't be participating. Please continue posting how you can do it too and how you're completely unimpressed, and I'll keep believing that the only reason you haven't tried doing it is because you're lazy and don't want to take the time to do so.

Because everyone is a hater. This guy has lackluster strategy but flawless execution. I think its impressive. I know rdms who cant solo a Wamoura Prince let alone Seiryu. I wanna see Avesta solo claim a KB.. Atleast that video will bring some drama.

hey I'm not knocking his accomplishments- I'm merely stating that his bladder deserves as much credit as his strats. I don't have the patience or focus for a 4 hour fight, end of story. I once soloed the Mountain Worm NM in Uleguerand Range as RDM/DRK....took me just over one hour and that sucked to be honest. So I'd say about 1 hr is probably my personal limit.

I give credit where its due, and he is certainly due it. However, I'm not gonna bow down and blow his epeen for it. Good for him, and all the attempts it took to figure it out in the first place. Me, I prefer sunlight. :D

I find it hard to believe you can only play FFXI 1 hour at a time and get ANYTHING done.
And yeah the theory that if you can solo Seiryu for 3 minutes, then you can solo him from 3 hours can go right out the window. I would believe it if you had unlimited MP and Seiryu did the same moves in the same order for those 3 hours.

Fact is, you don't know what's going to happen next. And being able to overcome any obstacles for 3 hours while maintaining your strategy is pretty impressive.

It's like saying, hey this LS fought Vrtra for 3 minutes. Surely they can fight him for 3 hours then.

When I said "took me just over an hour and that sucked to be honest"- what I was referring to was the solo something for an hour- one mob, worrying about millioneyes in the range aggroing, worms linking as one buries and repops up closer, or bats aggroing as well. In fact, it took me close to 2 hours of waiting to get that NM to pop up in just the right place where I finally didn't have to worry about all that the time I actually beat it.

Of course I do things for more than one hour at a time in-game...however its rare that solo-wise anyone does one mob for one hour plus. And its in that feat that I'll give Avesta his credit- he doesn't get flustered, he doesn't need to run to the WC, he doesn't flub up. Yeah, if you see everything a mob can do in 3 minutes and can survive it, you theoretically can survive it for 3 hours- but whether or not you have the intestinal fortitude to actually make it through those 3 hours...that's the question.
