Web based textish game.
So I've been fooling around with this game the past few days, if any of you are familiar with Kingdom of Loathing or Utopia/Battle:Earth, it's somewhat similar in its concept. Basically you get turns every hour to do stuff. It's pretty simple but it might appeal to some here.
The link below gives me reference points, but if you don't want to do that you can just go to fallensword.com to check it out without giving me reference.

In-game name is cerapo if anyone is interested in trying it out.

Basically you go around killing stuff for exp and gold and upgrading your equipment. You can attack other players though I'm not sure how much of an effect it has, I haven't really had any issues with it so far. There are guilds which can give you bonuses to your stats. It would probably appeal to people who are into treadmill-y type games that have lots of upgrades. Like I said it's pretty basic.
There are a handful of quests although for the most part it's seemed like they take more turns to do than they're worth.
I guess the main thing is that you can upgrade stuff like how many turns you get per hour / how many inventory slots you have / how many auctions you can put up at once with points you get either from donating (lolz) or putting in an e-mail/zip code into different offer sites. You start off with a really shitty amount of backpack slots (3) and a shitty amount of auction slots (2), but I used a throwaway e-mail to fill out like 50 of the e-mail / zip stuff in 20 minutes and solved all that. You use up turns pretty fast too since every time you move it's 1 turn and every round of combat = 1 turn, so you can go through all your turns in like 15 minutes.
Oh and there's a tutorial page that explains a lot of the game terms + an alla type site where you can look up where items come from so you can upgrade equipment or figure out where to go next to find monsters for your level.

So its basicly Kingdom of Loathing without the comedy?

Pretty much although it doesn't take as long to use up turns as KoL, but if you understand how KoL works it's somewhat similar though they're very different in some ways (guilds/clans more important in this than KoL, etc.).
