sir just quit. it makes life alot more fun when youre not doing repetitious tasks on a video game. playing once in a while can be fun, but making a habbit outta the game ruins the fun. endgame too, its taken to seriously. i had alot more fun on the game when i played an hour a day max and then chilled with my brohams.

Rl fails, unless I was living/working at some nice strip club or something.. then it might actually be worth it to be more social or doing... something else... heh heh heh (゜Д゜)

XDDDD strip clubs are over rated. not that i would/have ever gone to one. i dont think i could do that scene. i just emagine greasy old guys gathering there.

How do you know something you've never done is overrated? I'm not a big fan of them personally, but don't judge before you try it.

Until school starts, my schedule is this: Work- 8am-5pm, Video Games- 6pm-1am or 2am, Friends- ???. <.< Oh, and browse the internet/watch anime during work, multi-tasking 4tw.

you know, good point... hope my girlfriend doesnt kill me when i go tomorrow. o.o;; jk. but yeah. its just a waste of money for something you can do with someone you actually like. imo.

My schedule is weird to say the least. For example, I'd procrastinate with any writing releted assignments. However, when it comes to say mathematics or any engineering (aka math junk in there), I'll do it right away. I guess my brain knows from experience that it needs to dedicate more time to other non-writing stuffs. And math is not my weakness...

I have a 9-5 job, so I do wind up with a decent amount of time to play. It gives me the whole weekend, and depending on how screwed up my sleeping schedule is, I play either before I go to work, or after I come home. I have someone do all my yard work and random chores around the house (like cleaning the gutters, etc.) That frees me up to do more of the things I like to do, which is invariably playing FFXI.

I quit FFXI about a month ago because college started to get too demanding and I wasn't making any progress in-game, it seemed...

But all I do now is schoolwork for around 16-18 hours per day. I get 4 hours of sleep per night if I'm lucky. And I don't really get to play many games at all; the last time I've played a game was for 2 hours last Saturday...

I stopped playing MMOs altogether after I got to college and I usually finish most of my work last minute although lately I've been doing alot of it ahead of time to allow for more free-time to study for tests, catch up on sleep etc.

The thing I noticed is when I stopped playing FFXI but I still posted on the forums on my LS people would bitch and moan at me for never logging on anymore. Ok, I don't play a video game with you guys anymore, quitcherbitchin. Big thing, don't let the MMO rule your life. You'd be surprised how easy it is to just not play, just build some willpower and let your life be your priority, whether it be masturbating or getting your work done, RL should always come before the MMO imho, and if people tell you otherwise (i.e. You owe someone in the MMO something) just ignore them, because virtual data means nothing in the end.

Edit: Maybe masturbation can come after the MMO I dunno, I was just trying to think of something really unfufilling/trivial that you do in RL that should supercede the MMO.

I read through the General Discussion when I need a quick break, and I do still like to keep up on what's going on in FFXI, even though I don't actually play anymore.

I'm studying to be a video game programmer, and I'm taking 21 credits this semester. What takes most of my time, though, is game class. It's only a 3 credit class, but I spend at least 6 hours per day programming my game, and up to 12 hours on some days. Basically, if I don't have work to get done for another class, then I'm working on my game. It's not bad though, I actually have a lot of fun doing it. There's no way I could spend this much time on it if it weren't enjoyable for me...

And I agree with Magus. I didn't used to think I'd ever be able to quit FFXI, but now that I have it really isn't bad. As long as you keep busy, then it's easy.
