Yeah, I have no idea why that one won. Sucky. (Not that I could do better, but I didn't enter.)

Sad part is that wasn't even the worst entry in the panel.

The beastman women one just scream "Hiss in hell scalefags!"

While it's unrefined in the overall finishing touch, I think the 7 step doll display is the most creative entry.

Though the sheer lack of female ingame non-avatar NPC kinda sucks

There is only like 1 entry with Prishe/Aphmau/Shantoto/Naja...and it's one fucking entry, with all of them being chibi, and half of them not even have their face shown.

Seriously, why isn't there more Prishe/Aphmau entry? I thought loli is a huge thing in Japan!

Edit: nvm, I missed the naja and shantoto centered piece on page 2, my point still stands with prishe though. Well...not that I'll lose any sleep over it, tons of doujin artist makes for some pretty awesome picture of her...that will never win this contest due to obvious reason.

That's all I thought when I read that whole page. I also think the DRK was one of the better ones shown. It would've been awesome if the Taru next to the Gob in the Crystal Prize picture had that shocked face from the Starlight Celebration '06 thingy. Someone find that. >_>

Can you ask your friend what media they used? I'm guessing watercolour, but armor looks so precise.

Looks like a drawing entirely in photoshop or some other digital format.

It could be, but if I had to guess I'd go for real watercolor (or acrylic on canvas, but that tends to give greater color saturation).

I spend a lot of time using Photoshop and Illustrator (part of my job), but I'm not an artist so take it with a pinch of salt.
