Favorites by far are the "A President Under Blossoms" and "Peach Tower". Great amount of personality on the Naja picture I thought.

"Garuda in the Spring" and "I am a Lady of Vana'diel" I liked a lot as well. Glad this was posted for those who might've missed it on the POL site.

I think the DRK one is pretty cool, but it's not the best on there. Two things bother me about it: 1) It hardly feels like Vana'diel at all, has none of that great flavor the other pictures have(for example: Can you tell me what race the DRK is? Ark Angel?. 2) The scythe looks pretty stupid lol. I do like the armor though.

It's suppose the be the drawer's character. Now this annoys me. Your character is suppose to be an adventurer, not the Dark Knight of Gotham. He isn't Satan's personal soldier or a super sayien. I really don't like when people can't capture that fact and I think they missed the whole point of FFXI Characters. That alone ruins the pic for me more than anything else... then again, that scythe is really stupid...

Yes and how many of those drawings do you think were of people's own characters? Not every single one. And personally I thought it was a good concept and it shows the artist's good creativity. Just redrawing some characters in-game isn't really that difficult to do.

And what about that ugly mithra drawing on page 2. It was pretty bad and didn't come close to comparing with any of the other drawings on those three pages.

Regardless of whether or not that DRK pic was "FFXI-ey" you can't deny the artist is very talented. It's their interperetation of their own character.

The Mithra pitted in mortal combat with a deadly Yagudo, the hungry Tarutaru and Goblin peeking out from behind the tree, and the light-hearted girl and her mandragora companions completely oblivious to their surroundings--all aspects of this painting portray a vibrant story, rich in theme and color. The next time someone has to eat during a heated battle, maybe they should remember this painting to relieve the tension of the situation.
