Joining the bandwagon extremely late

so yea, after almost 8 years after launch i finally broke down and bought a PS2. So I now need to know what are the games to get. I picked up FFX & FFx2, plus Xenosaga 2 &3. i'm waiting to get #1 shipped back to the store. I mainly play rpg's and fighting games, so what are the titles i missed over the past 8 years.

Marvel Vs. Capcom 2, Dynasty Warriors (whatever version they all rock), Tekken Tag Tournament, Shadow of the Collosus, Metal Slug: Anthology, Dragon Ball Z: Budokai (Any of the versions, higher you go = more fun), Soul Calibur (I,II,III,),

Um... FFX-2 has the best battle system ever... too bad it's got such a crappy storyline attached to it, but the battle system + job system = win.

personally I loved Grandia Extreme because it had so much replay value, and you could join mana eggs together from the start. But I think a lot of people didn't like that.

Grandia III was ok.

Most of what they said, plus Phantom Brave and Guilty Gear XX (X2 in America). Well, the Nippon Ichi stuff is probably only a good idea if you like tactics RPGs (Disgaeas and Phantom Brave).
