Making the switch

I just bought the PC version of XI, and I'm having some difficulty installing it.

Whenever it goes to setup the install shield I get the following message:

"1608: unable to create installdriver instance. Return code: -2147319765"

Can anyone help me out?

Is your PC a clutter box? Has it recently been formated? You should post what computer you have and stuff like that to give us a little edge on finding the problem

Clutter box? Not really. It was formatted a while ago, and I haven't really put a lot on it since. A long time ago I put POL on this computer and it was fine, it just didn't run because I had a shitty video card.

My computer is a craptastic Emachine T2482. Just added a few upgrades to vid. card and ram is all; otherwise it's just the same.

No dice, sadly.

I did reformat for that reason, though. I would say it's about a year ago now. I've had problems with my DVD drive since. Says I don't have a proper DVD decoder when I try and watch movies and then this.

It's probably something exceptionally lame, but I don't have the computer knowledge to really know what's up.
