cheap doesnt mean good. best value for the money is samsung. you buy the cheap ass brands you just ask for trouble.

Samsungs are great monitors, get one if you want a 19inch. You did mention 300-500$, for that price you are in the 22inch monitor range, if you do want to spend that much and get a 22inch, -do not buy a dell- buy a samsun, the samsung 22's are way better.

I picked up a LG L204WT 20.1" widescreen over Christmas and I've been very happy with it. It's got an amazing colour depth but the refresh rate could be higher. However, if you want a 3 or 4ms monitor with the L204WT's resolution and depth you'll be paying a lot more money. It was around $400 CDN at xmas so I would imagine they've come down a little bit now. Good monitor and viewing area for the price.

Only thing I don't like, the stand is kinda flimsy and the monitor rocks around a bit when I'm typing really hard or fast.

Love it when it's payday! I just treated myself with a Samsung 23" LCD HDTV. Specs are the following: 3000:1 contrast, 8ms, and HDTV: 480i/480p/720p/1080i!

Using it as a monitor and a TV, but the bad thing is that it only has one HDMI port...i'm gonna dual this with my Dell E207 20"
