Is there a filter for effects people lose? Like haste wearing or protect being clicked.

Sometimes you can be to far or FFXI seems to skip it in lag?
Or worse, the do gooder other mage overcasts so you don't see the one you cast wear. Only the last person that casts sees the wear off message.
Sucks for the PS2 crowd w/o a windower timer.
Edit duh answer the question!: I think there is party member gets beneficial effect? Does that remove the message?
I sure wish there was a font change for that message though. I want it big blaring yellow lol.
i looked around for this once, best solution i could find was to change the colour of everything else, so that the "effect wears off" message was the only white letters i would see. but i wasn't too keen on technicolour chat window, so i left it more or less default.
Yeah, its the same way with enfeebles wearing off of a mob. The text is gray and there isn't any way to change it. Unless SE updated that and I never noticed.
It sucks for RDM but after 75 levels of enfeebles wearing off you just sort of train your eye to watch for that line of text, even though the color itself doesn't stand out at all.
Nope. Square wouldn't want to make it too easy for Red Mages and White Mages...Originally Posted by Ryko
This is correct in many ways. I've looked for it time and time again, good ol' hard to see plain white "boyiee's refresh wears off" that is unchangable. I was just ranting to someone about this and how of all the little things they change they should change this and the color for HP/MP others lose... it's BS that when i hit a mob and when friend is hit, its the same chat color.Originally Posted by Septimus
Last time I tried to figure out which it was...I messed up all my custom font colors and I was even more bonkersLike Eple, I also changed the other text colors, so the "wears off" white text stands out a lil better.
I am on PS2, and you develop a sorta sense when things wear, it's really not that difficult without a windower timer :\
Ive always hated this too.
If SE fixed this, they would make everyone happy.
Agree with most of what's been said. Just change everything else and turn off damage indicators for everyone but yourself when playing mage/backline jobs. It's sucks most for enfeebs because there are partial resists possible for most of them and you can't be 100% sure when they will wear. Anyone who needs a stupid plugin to tell them that 1 vana-hour has passed since they started their refresh/haste cycle fails as a support player.
I try to start my refresh cycle at :00 or :30, that way when the clock is winding around again, it is time to start up.Originally Posted by Dmer
Bingo. I've stuck with this for a long, long while. Pick a clock time to start the cycle on, and repeat it every game hour.Originally Posted by Septimus
I just go by when my own refresh wears off. Afterall, the refresh cycle starts with yourself.Originally Posted by Eraphiel
As for font colors, I changed the color of detrimental effects to orange and beneficial effects to blue, so its easier to tell when I need to erase/-na somebody, or dispel. But like the rest of you, I just have to watch the chat log for buffs and debuffs wearing off.
Yeah, that's what I've always done too.Originally Posted by Khamsin
That's fine for RDM. But WHMs typically don't haste themselves. Even so, on RDM I still like to have an idea when it's coming up and the game clock works just fine.I just go by when my own refresh wears off. Afterall, the refresh cycle starts with yourself.
I used to go by this, but having a visual marker so you know how much time you have to rest a tic of mp (~10 game min = first tic) is handy. Also plays for other spells: refresh is 1:05 on a game clock, and haste is about 20 game minutes longer (as is capped phalanx2, phalanx1, spikes, etc. etc.)Originally Posted by Alastaire
In general, they need to make a lot more custimization for fonts and font colors for all users alike. Yes, I play on ps2 >_>
The nice thing about using the game clock method is that you can maintain close to 100% refresh coverage. (You may lose a few seconds due to lag or having to cast something more important.)Originally Posted by Eraphiel
When I EXP, it's typically in TP Burns. Since Haste lasts 30 seconds longer than Refresh, I always start with Refresh on myself, immediately followed by Haste, and I recast Haste whenever its back up until all my melees have it.
Then I pretty much wait for Refresh to wear off. I recast it, and restart my Haste cycle. Not OCD enough to be watching game clocks.
I wish they had a way to set/save different profiles for chat font/filters etc. This way you can on the fly switch between the settings when you change jobs like say from a RDM or WHM who doesnt want to see melee damage or wants it in a X color to a MNK or WAR, who does and wants it in Y color.
