POL 1160 error

This is my first time installing POL and FFXI to a computer (laptop). When I start up POL it asks me to update to the latest version. When I try to do so it does the "checking playonline viewer version" and it says I'm online then it gives me the 1160 error: "Network is busy or there are connection problems. Please try again later or verify that cables, network devices, and network settings are properly configured." Is there a problem with the registration server at the moment? Because I cant find anything wrong with the laptop.

Talked to IT department, the ISP had ports blocked that POL needed to get through, problem fixed. The campus had originally blocked them because people used them to download music and what not.

Anyone know which ports these are for future reference.
