Why not give it a try? That'd be great fun! It's something that would be worthwhile just to see it die.Originally Posted by xingoo

I don't know I watched 300 people fight it and fail and all it did was make me go on an Aern hating spree.
But have you watched 300 Spartans take AV on?Originally Posted by Hapernack

I think I did, and then all 300 died and they had to send the 10,000 spartans and 30,000 free greeks after AV afterwards because he pwned the initial wave.
anyone considered SE might've just set the hp% bar for locking him to under 90% instead of 95% or something? <_<; or has AV been taken under 90% with wynavs nuked out since they changed the locking method? Perhaps they thought 95% was too easy or something...
Find one record of someone / ANYONE who when AV is at full power can manage to get him down even to 95%. Nobody can. The closest anyone ever can get is like 97% or 96% so even if they did lower the cap, when hundreds of players vs 1 NM can't manage more than 4% damage in even the best of the best of circumstances, something stupid happened.
600 blm aaaaaand GO !
unfortunatly you wont find so many ppl with sea access
Time to get out of the batcave... Everyone has Sea nowadays 'cept ToAU whores with a fresh access to Sky.Originally Posted by SchuldigGER

Lol we had someones GF apply with the same situation. Full CoP with ring done, no sky access on ZM4 lolOriginally Posted by Awoir
Will AV's AOE's hit all 600 people? If so, can it reduce enough of the damage that a single alliance could maybe take him down? >_>Originally Posted by xingoo
don't think meteor is subject to multi-target damage reduction, and I know 100% sure his AoE jump attacks will still do full damage no matter how many people are hitOriginally Posted by Elipse
You can do all of the Zilart missions over a weekend with a competent group of people. Hell, the two worst things about the ZMs are farming the Unlit Lanterns to get to the Den of Rancor fight and running through Ifrit's Cauldron to do the fire fragment fight.Originally Posted by Elipse
I don't understand how someone can handle the self-mutilation that is CoP, but won't take the time to breeze through Zilart missions...
Static vs no static, maybe? As much of a breeze as RoZ is, you still can't solo it.Originally Posted by Septimus
We had a number of players with sea before sky. This was a loong time ago but it happened. For about 2 weeks one summer we had a huge push to get ppl sea access. This was when the LS was still building so people w/o sky got caught up in the bunch. Sure enough a few skyless got sea first.
Hundreds of people spread out means nothing apparently when AV decides to Chainspell Meteors (SICK SICK SICK). Trust me I've seen it take out 2 people, and I've seen it take out 80 people all at once. They still took like 5,000+ damage per spell. Will AV's AOE's hit all 600 people? Speaking from Nidhoggs on my server where everyone likes to crowd him and thats only 150ish people....there is often a good chance you will not get hit with wing if you are in the alliance..
Apparently there is some sort of cap to the number of people mobs can hit at once...my best guess is its either 64 or 128...go go powers of 2.
So if you had 600 people firing at AV most of them would not be getting hit by AOE assuming AV is limited like Nidhogg in that respect
I was thinking this very same thing.Originally Posted by Sidanoir
Absolute Virtue defies the laws of the game. There are screenshots floating around of Meteors for in excess of 5000 damage. Keep in mind that the damage cap for every other monster in the game is 4000 damage (A raged Nidhogg's Spike flail will not go past 4000).
Also yeah a normal mob's AoE cannot hit more than 64 people at one time but AV defies this too. When we make jokes about "AV hax" we're not kidding as much as you might think.
Ive seen Nidhogg flails push over 5000...so I dont think there is a hard cap to damage..Originally Posted by Hapernack
